🌴🐾 Support Animal Welfare in Raro!🐾🌴

Our amazing vet Jess is heading over to Rarotonga on the 7th of June to spend 3 weeks volunteering at Te Are Manu Vet Clinic.

Te Are Manu provides donation-based veterinary care, helping animals in need receive essential treatment, medications, and support.

We are currently collecting donations to support this trip, including:

Feel Good Friday 💛

This handsome boy has finally been reunited with his owner after three weeks on his own 🥲

Charlie was incredibly lucky—because he was microchipped and registered on the national database, we were able to track down his owner and bring them back together. After recently moving into town from Rakaia, everything would have felt unfamiliar and a little scary for him, making this reunion even more special.

A happy reminder of how important microchipping is! We offer free microchipping with vaccinations or desexing—you just need to cover the $20 registration fee.

February/early March brings around pregnancy testing for our dairy clients; this is a key indicator on how the previous 12months have gone in preparing cows to calve, getting them through calving comfortably and getting them back in calf again. Once cows are confirmed pregnant, the hard work starts again to keep improving cows' performance and wellbeing for the following season.

It is always very rewarding for us to see the hard work of our clients pay off. 76% of clients improving the percentage of cows pregnant after 6 weeks of mating (the average was up by 3.2%) and 69% decreasing the percentage of cows that wasn't pregnant yet at 10 weeks of mating (this average was down by 1.6%)!

The top 25% of NZ farmers achieve 54% (or higher) pregnant at 3 weeks of mating, 78% (or higher) at 6 weeks of mating and 10% (or less) not pregnant at 10 weeks of mating.
