✨ Exciting News from Fur Kids! ✨
I’m very proud to share that last night I was unanimously accepted by the DogsNZ Canine Good Citizen Committee to become a CGC Assessor. 🐾🏅
I’m thrilled to help fill a much-needed gap in our region, as there are currently no CGC assessors south of Christchurch. 😱
While I still have a few steps to complete - including probation, shadowing current assessors, and sitting the official exam - this is a milestone that I’m really grateful for.
I have always been a strong advocate for responsible dog ownership, so stepping into this role allows me to actively contribute to fostering it within our community 💪
Not only will I be able to support owners in developing confident, well-mannered dogs, but I’ll also be helping to strengthen the relationships people share with their dogs through education, guidance, and a recognised standard of training ✅

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Fur Kids, trust me with your lovely dogs, and cheer me on in everything I do. I wouldn’t be here without you. 🐶

Got a dog who could use a little polish on their manners? Our next round of dog training classes kicks off next week right here at Fur Kids in Alexandra!
✨ Basic Obedience for Adult Dogs: Wednesday, 15th October at 6.30pm
Great for older pups or adult dogs who need a refresher on all the basics including manners, focus and lead control.
✅ 4-week courses
✅ Small, friendly groups
✅ Real-world, reward-based training
✅ Run by a local, experienced trainer who works with dogs every day

🐶 Puppy Foundations (8 weeks - 6 months)
Give your pup the best start in life with essential skills, socialisation, and good habits that make everyday life easier.
⏰Starts Tuesday 14th Oct @ 6.30pm

🐕 Basic Obedience (6 months +)
Ideal for older pups and adult dogs needing structure and consistency. We’ll cover recall, leash manners, and the basics that make living with your dog smoother.

About Fur Kids

Fur Kids was established to offer dog owners a ‘bow’tique, intimate, warm and inviting place to take their dogs whilst they work.

We offer weekday care on over an acre of land just outside of Alexandra, Central Otago. Our play park is securely deer fenced and gated and boasts plenty of trees for shade from the hot Central Otago sun, large overhead sprinklers, a large shelter and a kiddies pool to play in over Summer. We even make homemade ‘pupsicles’ for the hot days, are climate controlled for hot and cold days and have plush lounge suits and lamb skin rugs for the cooler days.

Dogs are fully supervised and encouraged to play and run around our big, open yard. Dog numbers are limited to 10 per day so each dog is assured to have plenty of cuddles and one-on-one attention - we treat your dog like our own! We are proudly a cage and kennel-free facility and we’re confident you wont find another daycare like us.
