What a brilliant day of training here at Fur Kids! 🐾
This morning wrapped up our final Basic Obedience Class, and I couldn’t be prouder of this group. We worked through loose leash walking, polite meet-and-greets, and long-range recalls, and the progress these dogs have made over the course has been huge. More importantly, these dogs have dedicated, thoughtful owners putting in the work every week, and it absolutely shows. They’re well on their way to becoming calm, balanced, well-mannered companions.
Then this evening we rolled straight into our Rapid Recall Workshop… and honestly, what a blast! The dogs and owners brought such great energy, and it was awesome watching recalls go from close-range warmups to multiple dogs working at distance, right through to the chaos and comedy of calling all dogs at once 😂
We covered:
• Building fast, enthusiastic recalls
• Increasing distance and distractions
• Jackpot rewards
• Emergency recall techniques
• Tips and tricks to keep recalls reliable in the real world
There were some seriously impressive results tonight, and every owner walked away with practical tools to help make “COME!” mean “FULL SPEED BACK TO YOU!” moving forward.
Days like today remind me why I love teaching so much. Great dogs, committed owners, lots of laughs, and some genuinely fantastic progress all around. 💪👏🧡
