Successful cultivation of Jimbu in Kathmandu
Jimbu (Herb)
Used as spices and medicine in Himalayan regions of Nepal has been successfully cultivated by Organic Agriculture Nepal in Kathmandu. This is used to flavor vegetables, pickles, meat in Mustang district of Nepal. Thakali restaurants use this to improve taste and add flavour in lentil (dal) and other dishes by frying in ghee or oil. Being a special type of herb, the use of this not only improves the taste of food items but also help in curing different diseases.
