The association is a National Member Organization that comprises of Veterinary Students from all over Nepal as has its local chapters in FAVF, AFU , IAAS Paklihawa Campus, NPI and HICAST.

On International Tiger Day 🐯, IVSA Nepal recognizes the urgent need to protect one of the world’s most iconic species. The global wild tiger population is estimated to be between 3,700 and 5,500 individuals, with Nepal home to approximately 355 Bengal tigers, a key subspecies vital to conservation efforts.

Tigers today range from Endangered to Critically Endangered on the IUCN Red List, with some subspecies, such as the South China tiger, facing the threat of extinction in the wild. Major challenges include habitat loss, poaching, and human-wildlife conflict.

Today, let us join hands to strengthen conservation initiatives and ensure the survival of these magnificent animals for future generations. 🐅🍃

World Zoonoses Day 🌎🦠 6th July marks the anniversary of first successful rabies vaccination by Louis Pasteur in 1885; a milestone in the fight against zoonotic diseases.

Zoonoses are diseases transmitted between animals and humans. There are over 200 known zoonotic diseases, caused by a variety of pathogens including bacteria, viruses, parasites, and fungi.

📊 Approximately 60% of all infectious diseases and 75% of newly emerging diseases in humans originate from animals.

This day highlights the significance of the One Health approach, which recognizes the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health. Collaborative efforts across these sectors are essential to prevent, detect, and respond to zoonotic threats.

Let’s join forces to strengthen global health security. 🤝
