NO*Thaw Hearts er i Trondheim, Norge. Medlem i NRR, Sibir-og NevaRingen, FörNEM. Fokus er helse, rasestandard og gemytt på kattene.

Neva Masquerade er en masket (colorpoint) Sibirkatt og har blå øyne. Den er kjent for å kunne være allergivennlig. Rasen er kjent for å være allergivennlig, men det betyr ikke at alle tåler den. Neva Masquerade og Sibirkatt kan skille ut mindre mengder av Fel d 1 som er et sekretoglobinprotein hos katter. Blant katter produseres Fel d 1 i stor grad i spytt og av talgkjertlene i huden. Det er det p

rimære allergenet som er tilstede på katter og kattunger. Anbefaler på det sterkeste å teste ut allergi hos foreldredyr før anskaffelse av katt, slik at en unngår å måtte omplassere den om en reagerer på katten.

Dear breeders, I have news for you about the ongoing recognition process for corin (sunshine) in Neva Masquerade cats.
We have fulfilled the show and pedigree requirements.

The FIFe Judges and Standards Commission as well as the Breeding and Registration Commission have all the documents available and have already started checking them.

I would like to thank all breeders and exhibitors who participated in the corin recognition process and who supported us.

Show certificates from a total of 14 Neva Masquerade cats that were judged at least twice at FIFe shows have been presented to the commissions.

These cats participated in cat shows in Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands.

An extra big thank you to Marie Stridh with 3 cats from SE*Tant Piggelins, that made it possible to have at least 4 cats with IC/IP before February 28, 2026. But a total of 5 cats from her breeding parcipipated!

There are 3 cats that achieved the IC title in the preliminary color group 7. Here they are:

And we have one cat that achieved the IP title in the preliminary color group 7:

In addition, I have sent 19 re-registered or newly registered Neva Masquerade corin pedigrees to the commissions.

The 4 cats that are now IC/IP cannot compete until the variant is approved, but corin (sunshine) cats in class 7-12 can still participate in NEM group 7.
Work is ongoing to DNA test for sunshine, register litters correctly and re-register cats that have the wrong EMS code.
Together, we breeders must contribute to the best interests of the breed, so that exhibitors are not stopped by judges at shows because we have not done our job.

Now we all in BC NEM hope that the variant will be approved at GA FIFé May 28-29, 2026 and that all cats with the variant will be returned to the groups for their base color at shows as soon as possible.

I helgen deltok GIC NO*Thaw Hearts Ramiza og SC NO*Thaw Hearts Queen of Mons på Vi Kattägares internasjonale utstillining i Örebro.
Ramiza fikk to cert-CACS- på veien til Supreme Champion.
Jeg er veldig fornøyd fordi hun er årsak til reisen🥳
Mons er "nissen på lasset" og fikk Hederspremie, BIV(dommerens beste Neva uavhengig av kjønn og alder) begge dager og ble NOMinert til Best in Show begge dager. I dag tapte hun med 1 stemme til BIS😅
Veldig fornøyd med Ramiza som er 2 skritt nærmere Supreme Champion.

Magisk helg i Uppsala🥰
SC NO*Thaw Hearts Queen of Mons fikk BIV-total og Best in Show begge dager🎊
Hun har blitt med "på lasset" pga racet med IC SE*Tant Piggelins Sune til IC i preliminær godkjenning for Sunshine(corin i FIFé).

I dag feiret vi 2 stk IC i NEM 7 ( preliminær godkjenning av sunshine (corin i FIFé)) da Veronica Anderssons Jiro Touch of Love, CZ ble IC🎉

🌟 IC SE*Tant Piggelins Sune 🌟 has achieved the highest possible title in preliminary approval group NEM 7 as the very first sunshine/corin 🧡Neva Masquerade in FIFé🥂🍾

Today at Uppsala's International show he became International Champion.
He also contributes as the fifth offspring from father T-Rex for IC/IP and his father will get the DM title now😊

10 hours drive one way to participate in a show on roads covered in ice and snow❄️🌨
This is not unusual for us who do not live in the southern parts of Norway and Sweden, because most shows are held far from where we live.

Titles for our cats therefore have a much higher cost.
Usually we have to take time off work on both Friday and Monday because both days are used for transport. 1-2 extra nights at hotel, or other stay we must pay for, also cost extra money.

Now the focus and work is on contributing to the breed to get sunshine/corin approved in FIFé.

I have some cats with me that I will show this weekend. 2 of them participate in NEM group 7 which is the group for primary approval of corin (sunshine).

The variant has existed for a very long time and it has been over 32 years since the first ones were registered as golden (-y-) in their pedigrees.

New genetics revealed (2022) which gene and where this recessive trait is and now we must carry out approval races in FIFé in order to continue to show these cats that have so far been registered and shown as golden.
A lot of documentation on pedigrees, DNA tests, and not least the number of cats at exhibitions with good results with breed standard assessments must be in place before an application for approval can be sent to FIFé.

The hope is that I, as secretary of the Breed Council NEM, can send an application by February 28, 2026 on behalf of everyone who has contributed their cats to this work, so that the variant can be approved at the General Assembly of FIFé at the end of May.
