Fam Dachs

Hi Friends!

It's a long, long time since I have barked here because nothing of dachshund interest has ever happened at my dad's home since I was called back to assist here at the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.

Dachshund puppies are hard to come by in Norway, but now rumor has it that six puppies are going to be born at the end of next month (January 2022) only 2-3 hours drive from my dad's home.

We 5 dachshunds who have taken care of my dad, and my mom, throughout the years, are now working hard here at the end of the Rainbow Bridge so the rumor might turn into fact. Our friends have joined us too, and we all hope that a dachshund girl, or a boy (2nd choice) can be delivered on the front steps of my dad's home sometime in April.

Memories, oh what memories! This will break my dad's heart, but I just want to tell him that I had the bestest earthly life any dog can have 💞 Love to everyone 💞 Hope I am not forgotten!

Hi everypawdy! My dad passed the Arctic Circle today 😊 The pictures will explain more closely why it is called Arctic 🥶 However, hopefully there is no snow at my dad's destination because this is high up in the mountains. When you are north of the Circle, the sun never sets in summer, in case you didn't know 🌞

Hi everyone! My dad will go on vacation up north this week. I am rather busy with heavenly things at the moment, but I will follow him closely from the clouds. I might post some photos of the beautiful Norwegian landscape as he goes along, and maybe some old memories of little ole me, so stay tuned! 💞💋

Hi everyone! I have now passed across the 🌈 Rainbow Bridge 🌈 and I am not in pain any longer. It is beautiful here and I am playing with all the other Angel Dogs 💞🧚‍♀️ This picture is my last resting place on earth, a beautiful urn my dad bought for me so my earthly remains can stay with him in his home until we meet again 🐾

I hope you all will continue to stay with me even if I am gone now. My dad wants to make this a memory page and he might post on my behalf now and then. Kisses to all who followed me in my short, but good life 💋

This is a poem my dad asked me to pass on to you. He wrote it for his previous doxie when he died, but I think it fits perfectly for me too because my dad loved me so highly 🐾💞🐾

I sit and write some words, my friends, I want my dog to hear
I hope to find some comfort in the pain I have to bear
The silence in my home, my dear, has never been so loud
The memories of lovely walks when there was not a cloud
Are passing very slowly before my inner eye
I am so very sorry we had to say goodbye
But our days together were not supposed to last
You had to meet the angel dogs, you went away so fast
But I will always miss you, my very lovely friend

Hi everyone! Fam's dad again.

Thanks everyone for your concerns, prayers and love ❤ Tonight I went to the shop and bought one pound of chicken for Fam. She hasn't eaten much for some days, but she ate 1/4 of it tonight. Afterwards we went for a walk in the local area, and because it was after midnight, I didn't use a leash so she could run free. Fam will get the best care there is the short time she has left. It looks like the painkillers are working because she tried to play with her toys tonight. I am heartbroken, of course, but I have to think of what is best for Fam, and I don't want her to suffer.

I've decided to get Fam cremated. There is an animal crematorium approximately one hour's drive from where I live. I will call them when they open today and try to make an appointment on Wednesday after we have been to the vet. I don't want Fam to end up at a garbage dump somewhere. She is too precious to me. I don't care about the cost and I see they have lots of urns to choose from.

I have not decided yet if I am going to have a new puppy, but at the moment I don't feel for it. I need to heal from the terrible news I got from the vet today. I just know it will take time. I will keep you updated on the situation.

Hi everyone. This is Fam's dad and I have bad news.

I got the result of Fam's CT scan today. It was not an insect bite as I thought it was. She has pancreatic cancer and it has spread. The tumor is in a place with many blood vessels, so the veterinarian doubts if surgery is possible. It will cost $3,000 just for the surgey alone. I have the money, and I wouldn't care how much it would cost to save her, but I don't want Fam to suffer for months because there is no chance when it has spread. Mom will meet Fam tomorrow at the nursing home for the last time. Fam is in pain, because she does not come to sleep with me at night, and I will soon run out of painkillers as well. I have made an appointment with the vet on Wednesday at 10:40 so that Fam can cross the Rainbow Bridge without suffering unnecessarily. I have felt for quite a while that I had to go on holiday alone this year, but I did not want to think about it because Fam has not been quite in shape for the last six months. Her blood samples were fine just a few weeks ago. This was a difficult decision to make, But I have to think of Fam and I need a few days to recover before I go on vacation. I am so sorry and it will be a terrible loss without her. Luckily it is vacation time so I can see other people because now I am alone in this big house of ours 😢

By the way, this is from my dad's bike trip tonight. I would have liked to ride in that basket on his bike. We had 80 degrees today in the land of snow and ice 😊🚵‍♂🌞🔥

Hi all kind humans and sweet dogs. Today I have been playing with my toys again. My dad went on a 3 hours biking trip without asking if I wanted to go. I was very disappointed, as you can see from the first picture. However, on the second picture he asked if I wanted to go on vacation up north with him instead, and I had to tilt my head to make sure I really heard what I heard. On the 3rd picture you can see where the wasp stung me. I will kick his ass next time I see him. Now I have to go because I need to pack my suitcase. The vacation is right around the corner and I need to make sure that my most important toys are packed. Luvs and hugs to all 💞😊

Hi everypawdy! I am Fam Dachs.

I have been very sick lately because I was bitten by an insect (I think), but I guess my dad has told you all about it. However, today was the First Grill party on our porch this year, just for my dad and me, and since I am on the Recovery Road, my dad bought a big beef just for little ole me. My dad is very kind and it tasted like heaven. Have a look for yourselves ... 😅

Hi everyone! It's Fam's dad again.

Fam is feeling much better today, but her throat is still swollen. However, it looks like it is going in the right direction. She is drinking water again and she ate a tiny bit too, but she still seems to have some problems by swallowing the food. It's a good sign that she tries though. Thanks everyone for your concerns and prayers! 😊💞🙏
