Georgian Shepherd (Also Known as Nagazi)

A semi-wild breed, sometimes referred to as the aboriginal Caucasian Shepherd.

Historically and still today, it is used to guard livestock and property from wolves, bears, and big cats.
Its role is to migrate with the herd and respond when an intruder appears.

The dog’s body is not heavy or bulky, as it needs to travel long distances through grazing lands.

There are also known cases of intentional crossbreeding with wolves, aimed at sharpening the dogs’ instincts and senses.
However, the first generation is usually ineffective and prone to fear (due to the wolf side), so breeders typically continue by crossbreeding back with dogs.
