kongcompany Howling 101 🐺 Howling can be heard up to 10 miles away, due to its low pitch and duration. Wolves often cover extensive terrain, and occasionally are separated, but howling lets each other know where they are. In addition to being a singing GPS system, howling signals the pack’s size, is used as a warning by bark-howling, and identifies each other through unique vocal features. When the entire pack howls, it creates an illusion of a larger pack!
