Took a quick picture of my female Poecilotheria metallica yesterday before getting ready for bed 😍 she matches so well with the enclosure!

I’m planning to make her a larger enclosure in the future (she probably thinks: Gigantic new house? Nice. I'm going to sit in this 6 cm gap after all)
but unfortunately I couldn’t make this one any higher/larger due to the limitations of my 3D printer bed. 😅

I want to make an announcement ❤️
This was on my mind for a long time and I can't enjoy my vacation at the fullest if I didn't make some changes for my small business.
For now I still have holiday till the end of August 🫶🏻

A little unexpected visitor on my last day before vacation!

More than a week ago, on my last day of work before my vacation, I found a European mantis at work, and I had honestly never seen one in the wild here before! 🥹

They aren’t originally native to this area, but they have been expanding their range further north but still are quite rare! likely helped by our increasingly warm climate.
I've never seen them before!

She looked a bit thin and didn’t seem to be doing particularly well, so I decided to bring her home with me. She now has a beautiful, spacious terrarium where she can hopefully enjoy the rest of her life. 💚

I have no idea how old she is or how much time she has left. Mantises sadly have a relatively short lifespan, often around a year or less, so I wanted to give this little lady the best care I could for however long she had left. 🥰

Not quite the coworker I expected to take home before my holiday! 😂

New home for a growing jumper!

Young jumping spiders are raised in smaller enclosures because it makes hunting easier and helps them thrive while they're still tiny.

Once they've grown enough, it's time for the next step, a spacious enclosure with plenty of room to explore, climb, and build their favorite hiding spots.

Growing up means moving up! ❤️
