We, Mustafa Angelique & Çınar (r)emigrated from Antalya to Thorn for the education of our son, for the family and to revive the old Tonnaer stables & manege situated on 25000m2 next to Napoleonsweg 22. We love the word ‘Kervansaray’ because it means a place where travellers and their animals are welcome, a cross road of cultures, languages and knowledge!
‘Horse services’ means that we will offer a variety of services starting with farrier Mustafa Kırkıl. Mustafa is a respected international farrier with 15 years of sound experience with a broad variety of horses and clients that can be booked via this page or by calling or messaging 0031 6 53853348. Currently we have bought a 3 and 4 year old horse at Kervansaray. Angelique has over 45 years of international experience in training horses for a wide variety of purposes in the Netherlands, Spain and Turkey. We are doing this with our partner Tomer Davidson from UK/ Israel who is an expert in training green horses and jumping. He has over 25 years’ experience with training horses and bringing them to competition in different sport stables worldwide. At the same time we are in an on-going process of renovation of the stables and riding hall and the nature around it. After the renovation the third service will follow, a B&B for horses of tourists or international riders that are competing in the area or enjoying one of the many equestrian routes or in the area. This could be very attractive because Thorn has a lot to offer with regards to history, music, water sports, etc. including a variety of opportunities to stay in a local and authentic places while the horse is taken care of and in good hands at Kervansaray. Changing the asbestos roof to an isolated roof/ cooperate with the local Cooperatie Duurzaam Maasgouw to rent the roof for solar panels/ making the property more nature inclusive for owls, birds, insects, flowers, etc. in cooperation with Werkgroep Steen- en Kerkuilen, Stichting Limburgs Landschap and trying to fulfil the natural needs of the horses by creating a kind of paddock paradise/ no use of pesticides or artificial fertilizers/ buying from local suppliers if possible and many more…
It is also important to mention that we are internationally focussed and that our back grounds are rather multicultural. When becoming more known this is expected to lead to international exchanges with students that want to get trained by topriders or trainers of this equestrian hotspot which we are situated in or other international projects.
