We breed, sell and distribute the Berghia stephanieae nudibranch; nature's answer to the pesky Aiptasia aka Glass Anemones. Berghiabase is an online shop.

All nudibranchs are carnivores and all are diet specific, the Berghia are no different. The Berghia nudibranchs eat only glass anemones (Aiptasia pallida). This is what makes them so desirable among marine hobbyists. From birth till death they only eat Aiptasia, therefor they are nature’s answer to Aiptasia anemones. It is important to realize that Berghia are colonial hunters, feeders and breeder

s. They need each other to hunt, feed and breed. You need to keep them together and assure there are enough Berghia to be able to find one another for breeding. It is necessary to have several Berghia attack a large Aiptasia at the same time in order to successfully eat it. A single Berghia may spend hours circling and attacking a large Aiptasia and unsuccessfully gain access to it, when several Berghia will circle and attack it together until it's eaten. Further, the Berghia you are adding are all breeders. It's their successive generations that will cure your tank of all the Aiptasia. The more Berghia you start with the faster they find each other to lay eggs and the larger the colony becomes. Thus the faster the Aiptasia infestation declines and your aquarium becomes Aiptasia free. Alle naaktslakken zijn carnivoren en voedselspecialisten, Berghia slakken zijn daarop geen uitzondering. De Berghia slakjes eten alleen maar glasanemonen (Aiptasia pallida). Dit is ook het feit waarom deze slakjes zo gewild zijn onder hobbyisten. Vanaf het moment dat ze uit het ei komen tot aan hun dood eten ze alleen maar glasanemonen en niks anders. Ze zijn daarom de natuurlijke remedie tegen de veelvuldig vervloekte glasanemonen. Het is belangrijk om te weten dat Berghia slakken in groepen jagen, eten en paren. Ze hebben elkaar nodig om te jagen, te eten en voor nakomelingen te zorgen. Om die reden is het ook belangrijk om ervoor te zorgen dat ze bij elkaar in het aquarium worden gebracht en dat er genoeg Berghia slakken worden geïntroduceerd om voor voldoende nakomelingen te zorgen. Meerdere Berghia slakken moeten tegelijkertijd een glasanemoon aanvallen om de jacht succesvol te laten zijn. Eén enkele Berghia kan urenlang met een glasanemoon bezig zijn zonder succes. Daarnaast zorgen alle Berghia slakken voor nakomelingen. Eén enkele generatie zal waarschijnlijk het aquarium niet volledig verlossen van glasanemonen. Opeenvolgende generatie(s) van Berghia slakken zullen ervoor zorgen dat de glasanemoon populatie wordt uitgeroeid. Hoe meer Berghia slakken worden ingebracht in het aquarium, hoe sneller zij elkaar zullen vinden en broedsels zullen leggen. Hoe sneller de kolonie Berghia slakken groeit, hoe sneller het aquarium verlost zal zijn van de glasanemonen.

Here are some pictures of just one of the tanks I have for the . In total there are over 20 of these tanks. All the chambers have large populations of Berghia stephanieae and a huge number of -strings in total. So many more juvenile nudibranchs are on their way.

One of my running at a nice pace at the moment. 16 Breeding chambers placed inside an 2m long , producing hundreds of juvenile Berghia per month!
Can anyone guess how many square meters of ( , , ) I need to sustain these little monsters in this one station?

Indien u de mogelijkheid heeft om een lading in een bakje naar mij op te sturen, ik kan altijd gebruiken! Voor een flinke hoeveelheid glasanemonen ben ik zeker bereid een leuke deal te maken met een order van . Geef aub een reactie als u glasanemonen uit uw kunt halen!
Btw; opsturen kan met de 'gewone' post en de glasanemonen hoeven niet warm te blijven. Hoe meer gestressed, hoe beter ;-)
