Have you've been part of our crew or did you feel part of our crew (as we all did 😄, right?) but you don't have our outfit yet? Then come to De Breidablik (Oirschot, NL) this Sunday (September 3) for the Sunnanvindur club competition and buy one of the CREW shirts, jackets, hats, beanies, or put an offer in on a WC2023 wheelbarrow.

And for everyone in other countries: we love you all, but it's on sale in Oirschot only, we will not be shipping anything out. Maybe you know a Dutch friend nearby who can go shopping for you (just a hint 😁). See you Sunday?

HELP WANTED!
Yes, the WC2023 is really over. We are blushing with all the positive reactions and compliments we receive. Thank you!

And we are still hard at work. The dismantling is now in full swing and the grandstands and Markaður are (almost) gone. This means a lot of rubbish comes to the surface: tie wraps, bits of wood, string, plastic and lots of si*****te butts. All things that we do not like to have in a pasture where (soon) the horses of the Breidablik will be back to graze. That's why we have a clean-up morning on Sunday August 20th and 27th.

Would you like to help? Many hands make light work, so you are more then welcome on these two Sundays between 10:00 and 13:00. We end the tasks with a delicious lunch. Please let us know if you would like to join via a short mail to [email protected]. Will we see you then?

IT’S A WRAP!

After waiting four years for new World Championships it was clear that everyone – visitors, volunteers, exhibitors, press, sponsors, officials and the organisation itself – were really looking forward to the 2023 World Championships for Icelandic horses in Oirschot.

We’ve posted a wrap-up of this fantastic week on our website, with all the highlights and special parts that made the incredible event that it is.

7 horses showed their most amazing tölt in the last final of this World Championship. The T1 world titel goes to Jóhanna Margrét Snorradóttir riding Bárður frá Melabergi with a total score of 8.94! Til hamingju Jóhanna!

F1 WORLD CHAMPION
The F1 A-Finals are finished where the riders showed all gaits including very fast pace.The best results were for Sara Sigurbjörnsdóttir with Flóki frá Oddhóli who now is the new World Champion F1. Til hamingju Sara!

An event like WC2023 would not be possible without the effort of our nearly 500 volunteers. Which is why we celebrate and applaud their work with a victory lap on the oval track and a heartfelt thank you speech from our organisers. Thank you, volunteers!

FEIF FEATHER PRIZE

The FEIF Feather Prize aims to encourage good riding and good horsemanship and thus advancing the wellfare of our Iceandic horses. The awarded rider is an example for the whole of the Icelandic Horse world. This year's Feather Prize goes to Susanna Birgisson competing with Króna von der Hartmühle.
