De interactie tussen mens en dier verloopt vriendelijk en geduldig, wij bouwen een relatie op en werken vooral met positieve bekrachtiging. Wij creeëren de situaties zo waardoor er altijd kans is op succes, een goede revalidatie en een gelukkige toekomst.

Those two are getting closer every day.

In every herd, there are bonds of companionship and friendship. Most are stable, but some shift over time. This is a natural process.

From the beginning, Flame was more attracted to Enrico, while Jersey tended to bond (mostly) with Spring, but also with F***y. This is likely because they are of similar size, which is often observed in herds.

However, recently Flame and Jersey have become best friends. They often eat together from the same haynet and are frequently found apart from the rest of the group. This could be because they are the oldest pair and seek more quiet, or simply because they enjoy each other's company.

The most important thing is to allow your horse to choose its own friends — to decide who it wants to eat and stand with. If there isn’t much choice, you can help them become closer by encouraging friendship through small sessions that trigger the care system.

Spring and Enrico, the foundation of the sanctuary.

These two amazing horses are my own and form the foundation of the sanctuary. My goal is that no horse should ever be alone, and in this way, that never has to happen here.

In addition to providing a herd, both Spring and Enrico offer mental support to the sanctuary horses during their stay, each in their own unique way. While Enrico brings movement and protection, Spring brings harmony and communication.

Without them, the sanctuary wouldn’t be what it is today. And I’m incredibly proud of that!

For the fourth year in a row, I’ve been organizing activities for Camping Kijkuit with the horses in the spotlight. This way, I can introduce children to horses or different ways of horse care in a playful manner.
This year, hobby horses took center stage!

They made their own hobby horses, ran a fun obstacle course, and took care of their new “pets.” 🐴✨

It's all about positivity, learning and fun!

We willen vaak te veel te snel al bereikt hebben, wat ervoor kan zorgen dat we juist minder grote stappen maken of zelfs sprongen achteruit.

Door je verwachting aan te passen en met elke kleine vooruitgang al tevreden te zijn, zal je merken dat zowel jij als jouw paard plezier houdt in de trainingen en de grote sprongen vooruit hierop volgen.

Wees geduldig, geef het tijd ❤️

Hier Enrico en Flame allebei netjes aan het 'wachten' op hun plaats tot het voer wordt gebracht 🤗.

Brrrrrr wat een kou!

Onbeperkt ruwvoer/hooi was al heel belangrijk en met deze temperaturen nog meer!

Bij het verteren van hooi komt er in de darmen veel warmte door het broeien en de micro-organismen die heel hard aan het werk zijn. Dus laten we met z'n alle die (interne) kachteltjes aansteken met veel hooi!

Hier hebben alle paarden een goede wintervacht opgebouwd en zijn gewend om zich aan te passen aan de temperaturen. Ik zorg voor voldoende hooi en schuilplaatsen voor de wind. En geen eentje heeft het koud.

Gelukkig maar, want voor ons mensen is het even bikkelen!
