Many may have noticed the lack of posts in recent times. This is because we are making a huge journey to resettle in The Netherlands! All of our gorgeous animals have been rehomed to fellow fanciers but there may be a small few coming with us. As many will know my chocolate agoutis have always had a firm place in my heart and the thought of not being able to continue my line is heart breaking. If we are fortunate with funds I may be lucky enough to take them in tow to start our first European line. Snow shoes and parkas will be an essential necessity coming from the Australian heat. Stay tuned for glimpses of our new Guinea pig world!

We made the long journey up to the Mackay Cavy Club Trilogy on the weekend and had a great time. Two days travel each way for three seperate shows: a boar show (judge Jo Collins) and a sow show (judge Narelle Schneider) on Saturday and a main show (judge Robert Brown) on Sunday. Also Breeder's Exhibit was judged by Jen Ballin. We took four of our special animals.

I was also very kindly awarded the Judge's Encouragement Award by Robert Brown! I cried a little, it was the best of them all I think.

It was good to see how the four would compete against each other as it was Columbian Gold and Golden Storm's first show. The reasoning behind the judges' decisions was exactly what I think of them so it was a very reafirming trip. Many thanks to Mackay Cavy Club and all the members. It was a fun weekend of cavying! Also many thanks to the judges for their kind words of encouragement. My husband says not to encourage me too much :D

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family of Collette Hayman from Anitrans who unexpectedly passed. The Anitrans service has been invaluable to our stud and I'm sure the rest of the cavy fancy, and likely other animal fancies around the country. Their service and experience has always been very well trusted and relied upon here. I don't know what we will do without you, Collette.

Agouti dilutes are rather boring and in this litter I was just happy to get two sows to keep the line going. However, I can safely assume I have also improved on Mum, an added bonus. The baby dilute definitely has a better head which is an achievement I am very pleased with. They are two1/2 weeks old! Crescendo Chocolate Topping - a wonderful girl.
