New Anti-Poaching Dog in Training

We’ve started training a new tracking dog for our latest anti-poaching project.

Roy has already spent several months with us working on scent detection, but we’re now specializing his training in the art of tracking. Step by step, he’s developing the skills needed to follow human scent trails through challenging terrain.

Roy will soon be deployed in a national park, where he’ll play a key role in protecting wildlife and supporting rangers on the ground.

Our K9 Clive does an amazing job with the researchers from Bangladesh 🇧🇩. Searching for the endangered Tortoise and Pangolins. Clive’s working stamina is unbelievable.

Double discipline

K9 Bodhan and our field instructor will be traveling soon to Indonesia 🇮🇩

His main job will be tracking but Bodhan can also do detection work. Searching for objects, cars, and houses is completely different than tracking. Around the national park, he can assist during mobile vehicle checkpoints.

- Ivory

K9 Bodhan will be joining the fight to protect the most critical endangered species on earth 🌍

The Sumatran rhinos are one of the rarest, most endangered mammals in the world Save this Critically Endangered species from extinction. They are critically endangered, with only about 30 /40 individuals left in the wild on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra.

Of course, the anti-poaching unit protects all wildlife in the forest 🌳we can’t wait to start!

Field Research

Location: The Jureia-Itatins Ecological Station (Portuguese: Estação Ecológica da Jureia-Itatins) is an ecological station (ESEC) in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. It fully protects a well-preserved area of the Atlantic Forest.

Mission: Conservation dog Betty helps identify habitat use by the target species, and to assist in collecting s**t and data.

The s**t will be examined as they are an important tool for studying population trends, habitat use, and gene flow. This research will contribute to monitoring efforts and help develop conservation policies for these species.

Biosecurity detection dog program.

At the moment, our field instructor is training the biosecurity teams in the Falkland Islands. It’s always good to work together with the handlers and the dogs in action during operational deployments.

Early detection of diseases, invasive species, and insects is vital, as farmers strive to identify them as early as possible.

Detection dogs can detect these issues at an early stage before they are visible to the naked eye. Agricultural losses due to insects amount to 40 billion USD annually.
