🎉 ADOPTED: TEDDY BEAR 🎉

We did it.

After more than six months of waiting, hoping, and watching families choose other kittens, Teddy Bear has finally found her forever home.

This sweet girl never demanded attention. She never climbed the curtains or put on a big performance. Instead, Teddy would quietly wait for someone to notice her. She would wander over for gentle pats, curl up in a lap, and show exactly what an affectionate, loving companion she truly is.

For months, we wondered when it would be Teddy’s turn.

Today, we have our answer.

Teddy is heading off to a beautiful family, where she already has an older feline brother waiting to meet her. We couldn’t be happier for her.

The last couple of weeks have been particularly lonely for Teddy after her sister Tiger found her own forever home. While we were thrilled for Tiger, it was hard watching Teddy lose her best friend and continue waiting.

Not anymore.

Now it’s Teddy’s turn to have a family of her own, a warm bed that belongs to her, and people who will love her for the rest of her life.

Sweet girl, you waited so patiently. You deserved every second of this happy ending.

Congratulations, Teddy Bear. We are so excited for you. ❤️

Okay but don't pat her with two hands she doesn't like that
Nervous pooper who needs special food for her tummy
Also she has an eye thing
Loves to curl up in a good spot of sunshine by the window
Is constantly tortured by the presence of tiny lizards in the garden that she can't reach

The Review:

Bella might just be my favourite sweetheart in the cattery. I always make time for her after I’m done cleaning; I'll sit down in her area (with a towel or jumper for lap protection) and she will meander over, do some big stretches, then clock in for a shift at the biscuit factory. There’s no gentle sourdough going on here, either - she makes bread hard and fast, thus the protective layer. When she’s finished, she will curl up and watch the birds out the window with you. Yes, you may give her scritches, but don't move from spot to spot too fast and don't take it personally when she gives you a little love bite - she’s simply telling you that you ventured too far, are scratching too slow or too fast, or she just felt like it.

Bella was adopted at a young age and lived with her dad for about 5 years before being returned for allergy-related reasons (her dad spoiled her and you can tell! he tried so hard to keep her). She was fostered for a little while too. She is easy to love and will love you immediately in return. Her ideal human has no other cats, a warm lap to sit in, will adore her chatty nature, and work with her to learn her patting boundaries.

🎉 We did it! - 30 adoptions to reopen intake! 🎉

❌ We closed intake again

On 9 May, TACC Rescue closed intake until we achieved 30 adoptions. Thanks to our incredible community of adopters, foster carers, volunteers and supporters, we’ve now surpassed that goal.

Those 30+ adoptions created the capacity for us to quickly progress more than 20 cats and kittens into care over the past 48 hours.

Which means… our intake is now closed again.

While we’d love to help every cat and kitten needing assistance, ethical and sustainable rescue means only taking on what we can properly support. Every animal deserves quality veterinary care, foster support and the best possible chance at finding their forever home.

So today we celebrate a huge milestone: more than 30 cats and kittens adopted since 9 May, and more than 20 new lives brought to safety because of it. 💜

Our next goal? Another 30 adoptions to help us create capacity for the next group of cats and kittens waiting for help.

Thank you for being part of the village that makes rescue possible. 🐾

✨ OFFICIALLY ADOPTED ✨

Some cats don’t need a second meet and greet.

Some cats don’t need weeks of deliberation.

Sometimes it’s simply love at first cuddles. 🖤

When Stitch’s family reached out to enquire about her, they saw something special. Then they met her, and despite being a little shy and cautious, they completely fell in love.

Stitch is still building her confidence. She’s a little skittish at times, but every day she trusts a little more, plays a little harder, explores a little further, and discovers that life can be pretty wonderful when you’re surrounded by people who love you.

Her family didn’t fall in love with who Stitch might become. They fell in love with her exactly as she is – a beautiful fluffy girl with a gentle heart who is learning to be brave.

Watching a family embrace a cat for who they are, while supporting them to grow, is one of the most rewarding parts of rescue. We know Stitch has landed exactly where she belongs.

And yes… this adoption comes with another milestone. 🎉

Stitch is officially adoption number 30 of the 30 adoptions needed for TACC Rescue to reopen intake.

Before everyone gets too excited and starts sending us intake requests though… hold your horses. 😅

While reaching 30 adoptions is an incredible achievement, we still have a significant waitlist of cats and kittens already waiting for help. Reopening intake doesn’t magically create foster carers, quarantine spaces, transport volunteers, vet appointments, supplies, or funding.

What it does mean is that because 30 cats and kittens like Stitch have found loving homes, we’ve created room to start helping more cats in need.

So today we’re celebrating Stitch, celebrating her family, and celebrating every adopter who helped us reach this milestone.

And we’re keeping everything crossed for Stitch’s sister Gizmo, who heads off on her own foster-to-adopt adventure later this week. 🤞🖤

Congratulations, Stitch. You didn’t just find your forever home — you helped make space for another cat to have a chance at theirs.

The Review

Yang really crept up on me! We had a “look but don't touch” relationship for about 18 months, though she would always come close and check out what I was doing, and happily accepted churu’s from my fingertips. I'd heard she was chatty and flirtatious with her foster dad, and it was just recently that I got to experience this. I accidentally showed up at dinner time, and ever since we’ve been besties! She climbs into your lap (and out) and in (and out) and in. Heaven forbid her brother Harry is receiving more attention than her! If other cats are checking something out, she's gotta know about it too (but someone else has to go first). She can be bribed so easily with treats of any kind, it's actually a little shameful. And yes, she is a total flirt. She knows how beautiful she is and she will strut her stuff for anyone she meets. Her ideal family could have another cat already, as long as they don't mind losing their personal space. They would have plenty of time for patting and brushing, and wouldn't mind that when her winter coat comes in she doubles in size.

We often joke that Kitten Pilates is all cuddles and cuteness, but we’re pretty sure the kittens would like everyone to know just how exhausting it actually is.

This is Miss Teddy, who completely crashed out in Nicole’s lap on the drive home after yesterday’s Core & Claw Pilates event.

After spending the afternoon being cuddled by dozens of people, accepting compliments about her cuteness, making new friends, posing for photos, and helping us share important information about rescue kittens, Teddy had absolutely nothing left in the tank.

The result? One very sleepy kitten who didn’t even make it home before entering full power-save mode.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended yesterday’s event, spent time with our kittens, asked questions, learned more about rescue, and supported TACC Rescue. Events like these help us showcase the incredible cats and kittens in our care and bring them one step closer to finding their forever families.

As for Teddy, we’re pleased to report she has made a full recovery after a rigorous treatment plan consisting of naps, more naps, and several additional naps.
