🎉 ADOPTED: TOBY 🎉

Sometimes the right home is worth waiting for… even if it takes two tries. ❤️

Earlier this year, Toby found what we hoped would be his forever home. Unfortunately, through absolutely no fault of Toby or his adopters, the resident cat simply wasn’t able to adjust to having a new feline friend in the house. It was a heartbreaking situation for everyone involved, and the difficult decision was made for Toby to return to rescue.

But as it turns out, Toby’s story wasn’t finished yet.

Before he even had a chance to attend another adoption event or officially start looking for a new home, someone who had been quietly following his journey saw our call for a foster carer and reached out with a better idea:

“What if we just adopt him instead?”

And just like that, Toby’s next chapter began. 🥹

We’re thrilled to share that Toby has now found his forever home and will be joining not one, but TWO of our previous adoptees — Mimi and Blossom. Three beautiful souls, all under one roof, with a family who already loved Toby before they’d even met him.

Sometimes things don’t work out the way we originally planned. Sometimes there are detours, heartbreaks, and second chances. But every now and then, those second chances lead exactly where they were always meant to.

Congratulations, Toby. We can’t wait to watch you, Mimi and Blossom live your very best lives together. ❤️🏡

As Toby was previously adopted prior to his return, he doesn’t count towards our 30 new adoptions!
But that’s okay - we have more to come.

🏡 ADOPTED – MIMI 🏡

At seven years young, Mimi has finally found her forever home. ❤️

In a world where kittens are often chosen first, someone special looked beyond the number attached to Mimi’s age and saw exactly what we have always seen—a beautiful, affectionate, chatty girl with so much love still to give.

Mimi’s journey to this moment hasn’t been an easy one. Despite once having a home of her own, she was abandoned and left to fend for herself in a colony when her former owner decided they no longer wanted her. Through no fault of her own, Mimi went from being someone’s pet to being another cat struggling to survive.

Thankfully, that chapter is now firmly behind her.

The reality is that seven isn’t old at all. Well-loved and well-cared-for cats regularly live well into their late teens and even their twenties, which means Mimi has many wonderful years ahead of her.

All Mimi ever wanted was a home of her own. Someone to chat to about the day’s events. Someone to curl up beside on the couch. Someone to shower with affection and receive it right back in return.

After patiently waiting for her turn, that wish has finally come true.

We are absolutely thrilled that Mimi’s new family saw the incredible cat she is and opened their hearts and home to her. They looked past her age, recognised that it is simply a number, and chose to give this deserving girl the second chance she always deserved.

Congratulations, sweet Mimi. After being discarded by one family, you’ve finally found the one that will love you for the rest of your days. ❤️🐾

🥔 ADOPTED: TATER TOT 🥔

Some cats arrive in rescue with big personalities.

Others arrive with big fluff.

Tater Tot arrived with both.

Found in a colony and brought to safety through our wonderful friends at Deb’s Cat Desexing, Tater Tot’s journey eventually led him from regional NSW to Sydney — and straight into the hearts of everyone who met him.

Behind all that magnificent fluff was an absolute sweetheart. A giant sook in every sense of the word, Tater Tot’s favourite activities included accepting affection, demanding affection, thinking about affection, and generally ensuring he was the centre of someone’s attention at all times.

The only thing bigger than his coat was his capacity to love.

Today, we’re thrilled to announce that Tater Tot has found exactly what every rescue cat deserves — a family who absolutely adores him.

A home where he’ll be loved, spoiled, doted on and reminded every single day just how special he is.

To Deb’s Cat Desexing, thank you for giving this beautiful boy his chance at a better life.

And to Tater Tot’s new family, thank you for seeing what we saw from the very beginning: a big fluffy teddy bear disguised as a cat.

Enjoy your happily ever after, Tater. We suspect you’ll have your new humans wrapped around your paw in record time. 🖤

🖤 ADOPTED: ATHENA 🖤

After 10 months in care, our beautiful fluffy black girl Athena has finally found her forever home.

Athena came into care from a colony alongside her mum, Missy Moo, and her brother Rupert, who found his forever family some time ago. While Rupert embraced the spotlight, Athena preferred a quieter life. Adoption days were never her favourite place to be — the crowds, noise and constant attention often left her feeling overwhelmed.

As a naturally shy girl, Athena was often overlooked. Not because she wasn’t beautiful, affectionate or deserving, but because she needed a little more time than most to show people who she really was.

Thankfully, Athena landed with an incredible foster carer who saw her potential from day one. Through patience, love, understanding and plenty of gentle encouragement, Athena slowly blossomed into the confident young cat we always knew she could be.

And then, after 10 long months, someone finally saw it too.

They didn’t just see the shy black cat hiding behind the crowd. They saw the loving, gentle, playful and affectionate companion Athena had become. They saw everything she could be.

To Athena’s foster carer — thank you for helping her find her confidence and teaching her that people can be safe.

And to Athena’s new family — thank you for seeing the diamond hidden beneath all that fluffy black fur.

Enjoy every cuddle, every purr and every moment of your happily ever after, sweet girl.

🎉 ADOPTED – KLAUS 🎉

And just like that… Klaus becomes Adoption #10 towards reopening intake! ❤️

Klaus first came into care after being found abandoned outside a veterinary clinic with 14 of his presumed family members.

Fifteen cats. Three carriers.

To this day, we’re still convinced some sort of feline sorcery was involved because there is absolutely no logical explanation for how that many cats emerged from those carriers.

When Klaus arrived, he was frightened, uncertain, and trying to make sense of a world that hadn’t been particularly kind to him. But over time, he began to trust. The cautious boy who once watched from a distance discovered that laps are wonderful, pats are even better, and humans can actually be pretty okay.

Watching Klaus grow from frightened but hopeful to a cat who actively seeks affection and companionship has been one of those rescue journeys that reminds us why we do this.

Today, Klaus starts his next chapter with a family of his very own.

And for TACC Rescue, his adoption means something even bigger.

Klaus is adoption number 10 towards our goal of reopening intake.

Ten cats and kittens whose lives have changed forever.
Ten spaces created.
Ten steps closer to being able to say “yes” again to cats and kittens who need help.

Congratulations, Klaus. Your forever family has gained an incredible companion, and you’ve helped rescue move one step closer to helping the next cat in need.

Happy tails, sweetheart. ❤️🐾

That’s how long Adele has been waiting for her forever home and her life in numbers..

Adele came into care on 2 October 2024 heavily pregnant and unsure of the world around her. She gave birth to her litter, but heartbreakingly lost all of her babies. In the aftermath of that loss, Adele completely withdrew into herself. She mourned deeply, shutting down emotionally and keeping her distance from the world around her.

But slowly, with patience, safety, and love, Adele began to heal.

With the support of an incredible foster carer, Adele has rediscovered herself. The scared, grieving girl who once hid away has slowly blossomed into a sweet, playful, affectionate cat who now seeks out snuggles, enjoys attention, and has finally started embracing life again.

Adele is not the kind of cat who will cope with loud adoption events or busy environments. Those situations are simply too overwhelming for her. Instead, Adele is available via private meet-and-greets where she can feel safe, comfortable, and truly show her beautiful personality.

She is looking for a calm, loving forever home with patient humans who understand that trust is something special — and something Adele now gives so beautifully once she feels safe.

🏡 Quiet home preferred
👶 No young children under 10
🐾 Private meet-and-greets only

After 602 days, we would love nothing more than to finally see Adele get the forever she deserves.

FIV+ does not stop a kitten from loving.

It does not stop the loud purrs, the head bumps, the biscuit making, the cuddles or the tiny little shadow following you around the house ❤️

This is Mouse.
A 10 week old kitten who has already faced more than any baby should.

Under veterinary guidance, Mouse was tested for FIV due to her presenting health concerns and was confirmed positive. While most kittens her age are too young for reliable testing, Mouse’s results were clear.

And yet… here she is.
Purring nonstop. Loving everyone she meets. Wanting affection, warmth, safety and comfort just like every other kitten in the world.

FIV+ cats can and do live long, happy, fulfilling lives. They are still deserving of love, care, playtime, soft beds and forever families. Mouse is not “less than” because of a diagnosis she never asked for.

She is still a baby.
Still worthy.
Still full of life.
Still desperately deserving of a future.

Mouse is strictly indoor only and is looking for a forever home willing to see her for who she truly is — not just a label ❤️🐾

FIV+ cats are some of the most overlooked cats in rescue — often because of fear and misunderstanding rather than facts.

FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is primarily spread through deep bite wounds associated with serious fighting between cats. It is not easily spread through normal day-to-day contact like sharing bowls, litter trays, grooming or cuddling.

Many vets now consider stable, non-aggressive households to be low risk, especially when cats are desexed, properly introduced, indoor-only and receive regular veterinary care.

Most importantly?
FIV+ cats can still live long, happy and fulfilling lives. ❤️

Right now, TACC Rescue has two beautiful FIV+ girls in foster care after both were dumped in cat colonies in the Bankstown area.

🐾 Mei Mei — a gorgeous 2-year-old tabby girl who is healthy, recently desexed and has already had dental work completed to support her long-term health.

🐾 Mouse — a tiny 10-week-old kitten who has barely had the chance to start life. While kittens under 6 months are not routinely tested due to possible false positives from maternal antibodies, Mouse was tested under veterinary guidance due to her presenting health concerns and has been confirmed FIV+.

Despite this, Mouse is thriving in foster care.

Both girls are STRICTLY indoor-only cats and simply need safe, loving homes where they can continue to thrive.

To help encourage adopters to give these girls a chance, both Mei Mei and Mouse will have discounted adoption fees — not because their lives are worth any less than any other cat in care, but because stigma around FIV still exists and we want these girls to have every opportunity at finding forever homes.

FIV is not a death sentence.
Sometimes all these cats need is someone willing to see beyond the stigma. ❤️

🚨🐾 FOSTER CARERS URGENTLY NEEDED 🐾🚨

“Why does TACC Rescue always need so many foster carers?” 🤔😂

Honestly? Because our foster carers are just really, really good humans ❤️

They open their homes to cats and kittens who are scared, vulnerable, tiny, recovering, learning to trust, or simply needing somewhere safe to land… and sometimes they fall completely in love along the way 🥹🐱

So many of our fosters become “foster fails” because the bond they build with their foster kitty is just too special to let go of. And while we absolutely LOVE that for them and their cats, it also means we’re constantly needing new foster carers to help the next little life in need.

Right now, we are overflowing with cats and kittens needing safe homes.

Some need socialisation and confidence-building.
Some need somewhere quiet to decompress after difficult starts to life.
Some are tiny babies needing extra love and care.
And some just need the chance to finally feel safe.

Fostering truly saves lives.

Without foster carers, we cannot say yes to:
🐾 abandoned litters
🐾 vulnerable kittens
🐾 injured or sick cats
🐾 cats needing a second chance

💛 WE PROVIDE:
✔ Food
✔ Litter
✔ Vet work & medical care
✔ Rescue support and guidance
✔ Supplies and ongoing help

🏡 YOU PROVIDE:
✔ A safe and loving environment
✔ Patience and kindness
✔ A spare room, bathroom, laundry or small safe space
✔ The opportunity for a cat to thrive

Whether you can foster for a few weeks or a few months, every single foster home makes a difference.

And fair warning… you may discover that saying goodbye to a foster kitty is much harder than expected 😂❤️

If you’ve ever considered fostering, now is the time. We urgently need more foster homes across South West Sydney and surrounding areas to help us continue saving lives.

Please message us or apply below to join the TACC Rescue village 🐾❤️🖤
