You’ve probably heard the term ‘greenwashing’ being thrown around, but what the f**k does it actually mean?🤔

Cambridge defines greenwashing as “behaviour or activities that make people believe that a company is doing more to protect the environment than it really is.” 🤬

“When companies invest more time and money on marketing their products or brand as “green” rather than actually doing the hard work to ensure that it is sustainable — that’s greenwashing,” explains Leyla Acaroglu, UNEP Champion of the Earth and sociologist. “The main issue we see is that greenwashing takes up valuable space in the fight against significant environmental issues like climate change, plastic ocean pollutions, air pollution and global species extinction.”

Second-hand clothes have a big positive social and environmental impact.
They reduce carbon emissions, save lots of resources, water, and energy.

They also prevent old clothing from ending up in landfills or incinerators. Buying second-hand clothing is great for your wallet and the environment. ♻️👗👡👙👖👠

We all know there are things in this world that are far more important than what we own. Or have we been too busy seeking happiness in all the wrong places?
Escaping excessive consumption is not an easy habit to change. If it were, it would be done more often… myself included.
But it is worth trying en every step counts 💪

Excessive consumption promises happiness and fulfilment, but never delivers. True life must be found elsewhere. ❤️

It is time to take a step back and realise that excessive consumption is not delivering on its promise to provide 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭.

Consumption is necessary, but excessive consumption is not. And life can be lived better (and enjoyed more) by intentionally rejecting excess.
