longest standing relationship ever between humans and animals. Most people think of dogs as only wonderful and loyal companions, who are able to form a strong bond with their owners. But a dog has become quite an incredible animal; these days many varied breeds are found either living within the home as a family pet to a highly trained working canine. A properly trained guard dog can help to deter potential burglars, and may also be an efficient alarm against intruders on your property. A dog is not only a loyal pet, but also a vigilant pet. Dogs do more than keep you company, they also keep you safe. Because of certain superhuman abilities, the use of dogs for protection has become necessary. In the home and particularly for those living alone, safety is paramount in these dangerous times. Crime figures rise regularly and when it comes to a thief looking for a house to burgle, nothing is more forbidding than the sound of a barking dog. A pet dog will defend its property and the family. So, in addition to having a monitored security system, owning a dog can be a great way to protect your family’s security. However, one of the common misconceptions among dog owners is that watchdog is simply another name for guard dog.
•Superhuman Abilities
Dogs have extraordinary senses; if you doubt this, consider this story;
In California’s 6.6 earthquake two years ago, a dog was captured on video bursting out of an office building. Seconds before the tremor arrived, you can see the dog bolt across the room. The dog actually ran to find its’ owner in a nearby office specifically to warn her. Also, minutes before the Tsunami struck Asia; animals of all species began fleeing, including domesticated animals and livestock, aviary, and rodents. Eyesight: is acute with great peripheral vision. Dogs anticipate their owners coming home minutes before they actually arrive. Smell: their nose is probably the best around. Imagine you cook a meal and seasoning it with a variety of things. As humans, we can make out the great smell of the meal, the aroma, but dogs can smell the individual ingredients. They can smell things from far away and can distinguish so many things that they are used to sniff out drugs and explosives. Dogs have saved the lives of families when fire broke out. Hearing: They can detect the different types of engines even if it is from the same model of automobile. That is how unique their hearing is.
•Superhuman Vigilance
A security dog helps you to secure your property from trespassers, vandals and burglars. Alarm systems are good, but you can’t afford to solely rely on them when it comes to your security. The problem with an alarm is that it only indicates an intrusion or a violation; it doesn’t do anything about it. But a security dog both raises an alarm and tries to solve the problem at the same time. Security dogs are trained to sense disruption or an intrusion from a distance. While your alarm doesn’t ring until maybe your front door or window is unlocked, a security dog senses an intruder from afar, raises alarm and even tries to corner or immobilize the intruder until more help comes along.
