In 2015, Greenkontrails was involved from start in the concept of developing a (i) 2.5 Hectare high-tech Greenhouse/Nursery, (ii) a Packhouse and (iii) a 200 ton per annum Catfish Aquaponics Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) for Stone Edge Farms Ltd Jos, Nigeria. Each of these 3 projects can survive independently as a business entity if funded and developed in phases. Greenkontrails was involved in managing the project set-up including coordinating between the technical partners (Wellington and White), local partners and client – this involved arranging for the technical partners visit to Jos Nigeria, coordinating the feasibility study/business plan case, among others and eventually being part of the team that was in talks with a local commercial bank to secure debt to develop the project and fund its operations. The project was estimated to cost about USD4.5 Million. Based on our simple philosophy of CONCIEVE-DESIGN-BUILD-OPERATE, we can say that the CONCEIVE and Engineering DESIGN stages of this project were successfully completed and delivered. According to the project timeline chart and if funding is secured, the BUILD and OPERATE stages can be achieved with the first tomato to be harvested in 42 weeks from funding date.
