Ben and WOW! Warrior are doing well 👏🏻. They arrived safely at Wilhelmstal last night. Together they have covered over 60km since Wednesday morning! We are so grateful for wonderful Namibians taking care of them on their journey.

“The bond that develops with horse and rider is something truly unique. It doesn’t take long. Spending the whole day together, battling through the heat, finding grazing and water, chatting with horse language (and plain English), discussing traumas and happy times of the past and dreams of the future, these are wonderful things for me out under the great open sky”.

Our WOW! Adventure kicked-off yesterday with Ben Freeth and WOW! Warrior taking the road from Okahandja to Henties Bay with the rest of us meeting up with him near Spitzkoppe in a week’s time.

Warrior is a 4 year old Appaloosa c**t. Small in size, but very energetic. His coat pattern is described as a ‘few spot’. Warrior has never left the farm with its red thick sand before. He has never entered a horsebox and he has never been shoed… but he remained steadfast to true Appaloosa characteristics in these situations.

Ben came back to Namibia to ride west and finish up at Cape Cross. He’s quest is to ride for justice and ours is to create awareness of the Appaloosa breed. Thanks to Vesta Burger we were able to team up. In Ben’s words:

“May this be a blessed ride for all of us and also for the wider picture of justice in the whole of Southern Africa. May justice come and may people thrive. May we be led by the names of Jesus Christ”.

We’ve been busy… and in just 3 weeks, we’re setting off on our very first WOW! adventure!
