❤️ Meet Our Clinic Heroes! 🐾

Behind every wagging tail, happy purr, and successful recovery is a very special team of four-legged staff members who make our clinic a better place every single day.

🐴 Janacek – Our gentle serum horse. By donating blood, he helps us produce serum that is used to treat painful eye ulcers in animals, giving countless patients a better chance to heal and see clearly again.

🩸 Gustav – Our gentle giant and blood donor hero. When a critically ill dog needs a lifesaving blood transfusion, Gustav quietly steps up to donate, giving other dogs a second chance at life.

🐶 Raka – Our loyal security officer. Always keeping a watchful eye on the clinic, Raka makes sure everyone feels safe while welcoming visitors with his big heart.

🐱 Garfield – Our resident pest control expert. He may spend most of his day snoozing in his bed, but when duty calls, this lazy orange legend reminds us that even the biggest nap lovers can have an important job.

We are incredibly grateful for these amazing animals. They may not wear uniforms, but every one of them plays a unique role in caring for our patients and making our clinic feel like home.

Due to the heavy rainy season, we have noticed a significant increase in mice and rats. For households with pets, rat and mouse poison is not a safe option. Even when placed in secure areas, a dog can be fatally affected if it bites or eats a poisoned rodent. Most rat poisons are anticoagulants, which cause uncontrollable internal bleeding in animals, which is not noticed immediately after ingesting the poison/poisoned rodent.

Today, we would like to take a moment to recognize and celebrate someone truly special to our practice, Miss Liza Paulus.

Liza’s journey with us began at just 16 years old, when she started volunteering during her school holidays. Since then, she has returned year after year with unwavering dedication and commitment. Her consistency alone speaks volumes about her character, work ethic, and genuine passion for veterinary science.

While pursuing her studies at the University of Namibia, Liza completed several practical placements with us between December 2020 and January 2021, December 2023 and January 2024, and most recently December 2024 to January 2025. During each of these periods, she impressed us with her strong academic foundation, excellent practical skills, and her calm, compassionate approach to both animals and clients.

Liza has always carried herself with professionalism and maturity beyond her years. She is attentive, eager to learn, and capable of working independently when needed. Her respectful and confident interactions with both staff and clients have made her a valued and trusted member of our team.

What truly sets Liza apart is her deep empathy for animals, combined with a disciplined and methodical approach to her work. She leads with heart, responsibility, and a genuine love for what she does.

We are especially proud to share that Liza will be graduating on the 29th of April 2026 with a BSc Honours in Animal Science. A remarkable achievement that reflects her dedication and hard work.

We are incredibly proud of you, Liza, and grateful to have been part of your journey. Thank you for the positive impact you continue to make in our practice and community. We look forward to seeing all that you will achieve in the future.
