Are you new to pets? First time being a cat parents? It's all fun and cute until their smell ruined your life?
We got you covered.
Here's 5 Quick Tips for Conquering Pet Odors:
1. Bathe Them Regularly (at least once in 2 months)
You may regularly scheduled appointment at the pet groomer. If you give your pet a bath at home, set a reminder on your phone or an ongoing appointment on your calendar so you wonβt forget.
2. Clean Their Toys, Bowls, Collars
When thinking about the cleaning that we regularly do for our pets, we often forget about things like toys, food bowls, and collars. All of these items can easily hold on to odor and bacteria, so itβs important to regularly wash and launder all of this stuff, too.
3. Wash + Dry
Itβs also important to regularly wash all of the items that your pet uses on a daily basis. This can include: pet bed covers, cushion covers on furniture (if they're laundry safe), pet blankets and, of course, sheets and linens (if your pet is allowed on your bed).
4. Vacuum Up Hair + Dander
For those of us with pets who shed (especially the old ones), managing all the hair and fur is a real struggle. Itβs important to vacuum up all the pet hair and dander wherever it might be hiding. This includes: the floor, the cushions of your couch, behind furniture and in all the cracks and crevices around areas that your pet likes to hang out.
5. Use air deodorizer/freshener
When tackling cat's urine or poo-poo odors in your home, you can try an organic air freshener such as CAT D'ODOR BLOCK to spot-treat an area and completely eliminate the odor. Place a block of CAT D'ODOR BLOCK beside your cat litter box to absorb the unpleasant smell and replace the odor with fresh aromatic smell. Make sure to only choose non-toxic air freshener because some air freshener can be harmful to your pet.
