The Albino Giant Gourami (Osphronemus goramy) is a large, white-to-pinkish freshwater fish with distinctive red eyes. They grow up to 18–28 inches long and live for over 20 years. They require a massive aquarium of at least 200 to 300 gallons, heavy filtration, and a diet rich in vegetables.

• Minimum Size: 200–300 gallons for a single adult; they need an 8-foot long tank or indoor pond.

•Water Temperature: 68°F to 86°F (20°C to 30°C).

• Water pH: 6.5 to 8.0.

• Filtration: Heavy-duty filtration (sumps or large canister filters) to manage large amounts of waste.

• Decor: Use large, heavy driftwood and rocks. Secure all items, as they like to rearrange the tank. Avoid live plants unless you want them eaten.

• Air Access: Leave a gap at the top of the tank. They use a labyrinth organ to breathe air from the surface.

• Behavior: Juveniles are generally peaceful, but adults can become territorial or bully smaller fish.

• Tank Mates: Keep with other large, robust fish like large peaceful cichlids, plecos, or other heavy-bodied species. Avoid small fish that fit in their mouths.

Neon tetras are small, peaceful freshwater fish that thrive in a minimum 10-gallon tank kept in schools of 6 or more. Maintain water temperatures at 70–79°F (21–26°C), a pH of 6.0–7.5, and perform small weekly water changes of about 10% to 25%. Feed them small tropical flakes, pellets, and frozen foods twice daily.

• Tank Size: At least 10 gallons for a small school of 6, larger tanks keep water parameters more stable.

• Temperature: 70°F to 79°F (21°C to 26°C).pH Level: 6.0 to 7.5 (slightly acidic to neutral).

• Decoration: Use dark substrate, driftwood, and live or silk plants (like Anubias) to mimic their natural habitat and make them feel secure.

• Schooling: Always keep them in a group of 6 or more; larger groups (10+) reduce stress and display better schooling behavior.

• Compatible Fish: Peaceful bottom-dwellers like Corydoras Catfish or other small, non-aggressive community fish. Avoid large or aggressive fish that view them as a snack.

• Compatible Fish: Peaceful or moderately active community fish like corydoras, tetras, and rasboras.
• Avoid: Long-finned or slow-moving fish like bettas, angelfish, or fancy guppies that can get their fins nipped.

The Frontosa cichlid (Cyphotilapia frontosa) is a majestic, slow-moving deep-water fish from Lake Tanganyika, Africa. They grow 10 to 15 inches long and live 15 to 25 years. They need a minimum 125-gallon tank for a small group, hard alkaline water (pH 7.8–9.0), and a meat-based diet.

Tank Requirements
• Tank Size: 125 gallons minimum for a small group (1 male to 4–5 females); 180+ gallons for a larger colony.
• Substrate: Fine aragonite sand or crushed coral to mimic Lake Tanganyika.
• Decor: Stable rock formations and caves for hiding; leave plenty of open swimming space.
• Lighting: Dim or moderate lighting. Frontosas live deep underwater and stress under bright LEDs.
• Filtration: Powerful canister filters are mandatory because these large fish produce heavy biogenic waste.

Water Parameters
• Temperature: 75°F to 80°F (24°C to 27°C), kept strictly stable.
• pH Level: 7.8 to 9.0 (high/alkaline).
• Water Hardness: 10–20 dGH and dKH.
• Maintenance: Weekly or bi-weekly 25% water changes; they are sensitive to sudden chemical swings.

The Green Mahseer (Neolissochilus Hexagonolepis), also known locally in Southeast Asia as the Green Kelah or Tengas Hijau, is a large, powerful freshwater fish native to clean, fast-flowing river systems. Caring for them requires replicating their highly oxygenated mountain stream environment.

Green Mahseers are incredibly active, fast, and powerful swimmers. They require ample physical space to prevent injury and stunt growth.

• Minimum Tank Size: 4 to 5 feet in length minimum for young fish, but adults eventually require 180+ gallons or a large indoor pond.
• Substrate: Smooth river rocks and gravel to replicate a natural riverbed. Avoid sharp gravel that can injure their bottom-feeding mouths.
• Decor: Securely anchored driftwood or large boulders. Do not use flimsy plants, as Mahseer are strong and may uproot or consume them.
• Lid: A tight-fitting, heavy lid is mandatory. These fish are notorious high-jumpers, especially when startled or when swimming against a strong filter current.

Maintaining pristine, well-oxygenated water is the most critical aspect of Mahseer care. They are highly sensitive to pollution and stagnant conditions.

• Water Temperature: 22°C to 28°C (71.6°F to 82.4°F).
• pH Level: 6.5 to 7.0 (slightly acidic to neutral).
• Dissolved Oxygen: Extremely high, ideally 7.1 to 8.9+ ppm.
• Water Flow Rate: High flow is required to simulate their native rapids. Provide a flow rate of > 7 L/min for growing fish (100g–500g) using powerful powerheads or wavemakers.
• Filtration: Heavy-duty canister filtration or a sump system to manage their bioload. Weekly water changes of 30% to 50% are necessary to keep nitrates low.

Proper betta fish care requires a minimum 5-gallon tank, stable tropical water temperatures between 76–81°F, and a gentle filtration system.

• Tank Size: Use at least a 5-gallon aquarium. Avoid small bowls or vases because they cause toxic waste build-up and stress.
• Temperature: Keep the water warm between 76–81°F using a small adjustable aquarium heater.
• Filter: Use a gentle sponge filter or a low-flow filter to protect long fins from strong currents.
• Conditioner: Always treat tap water with a water conditioner to remove toxic chlorine and chloramines.

Water Changes: Replace 15% to 25% of the tank water every week using fresh, conditioned water at a matching temperature.Decorations: Use live or soft silk plants. Avoid sharp plastic plants that can tear delicate fins.

The Asian Bumblebee Catfish (Pseudomystus siamensis) is a nocturnal, predatory bottom-dweller native to Southeast Asian river basins. They grow to roughly 4 to 6 inches (10--15 cm) and are known for their striking yellow-to-beige and black-brown stripes. They require highly stable water parameters and should be fed a high-protein diet after lights out.

Water Parameters
• Temperature: 72°F to 81°F (22°C to 27°C)
• pH Level: 6.4 to 7.2
• Water Hardness: 4 to 15 dGH
• Water Quality: Sensitive to nitrogenous waste; riverine conditions require excellent filtration and regular partial water changes (20% weekly).

Tank Mates & Temperament
• Temperament: They are peaceful with similarly sized or larger fish, but highly aggressive and predatory toward any fish small enough to fit into their mouths.
• Compatible Mates: Mid-to-top dwelling species, calm medium-sized rasboras, or fast barbs.
• Avoid: Very small schooling fish (like neon tetras or endlers) and overly aggressive bottom dwellers that may compete for cave territory.
