( 12 ) Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD)

What It Is:
FLUTD is a group of conditions affecting a cat’s bladder and urethra, causing painful urination or blockages. It can result from urinary stones, stress, infections, or diet imbalances. Male cats are more prone to life-threatening blockages due to their narrower urethra.

Symptoms:
• Straining to urinate with little success
• Blood in urine
• Urinating outside the litter box
• Crying in pain while urinating
• Licking the ge***al area excessively

How to Prevent/Treat:
✅ Feed a balanced diet to prevent crystal formation.
✅ Encourage water intake with wet food or fountains.
✅ Clean the litter box regularly to reduce stress.
✅ In severe cases, emergency catheterization may be required for blockages.

🚨 Important Note:
If your cat shows any of these symptoms, it’s crucial to visit a veterinarian as soon as possible.
