A lovely mommy and her teenage daughter travelled all the way from Kuantan — not once, but twice — just to get their perfect little companion.

Hamsters love to dig in sand. They roll, dig, and sometimes even sleep inside their sand bath. Sand isn’t optional — it’s how hamsters remove excess oil from their fur and keep their coats clean and healthy.

But here’s the problem: not all sand is safe.
Some brands intentionally add artificial scents like apple or strawberry. Now imagine this — you’re working out in a gym, breathing heavily, and the whole gym is filled with scented candles. You’d get a headache very quickly. Do this every day — what happens to your nose and lungs?

That’s exactly what scented sand does to your hamster.

Hamsters breathe very close to the ground. When they dig, the scent goes straight into their nose and lungs. Sometimes they even sleep in the sand bath. Imagine sleeping every day in a tiny room filled with strong fragrance. Sooner or later, something will go wrong.

Hamsters are our family — not toys.
And no, they are not a cheap hobby.

First of all, a hamster needs a proper setup. A suitable cage, a safe wheel, correct bedding, sand, enrichment — none of these come cheap.

Some stores sell “cheap setups” because they are unsuitable: cages that are far too small, wheels that damage spines, or setups that are simply incomplete.

Secondly, hamster care comes with monthly recurring costs. Good quality food, bedding, sand, and enrichment are not cheap.

Our supplies are developed through hours of testing, research, and improvement. Producing quality products takes time, patience, and commitment — and quality never comes cheap.

If you maintain your hamster properly and ethically, you will spend money.
A healthy hamster is not cheap to sustain.

On top of that, always save for vet care. While veterinary care in Malaysia is relatively affordable, emergencies still happen. A responsible owner prepares an emergency fund — because a life is involved.
