One of my regular activities is collecting aluminum cans for recycling. My process involves crushing them flat, a task made much easier by a custom-made, Thor-style hammer my brother made.I cash them in for RM6 per kg, and I usually wait until I have a good haul of about 5 or 6 kilograms.

Freelance Scam Alert - Impersonation of Castingwords.com on Telegram

I want to warn the community about a sophisticated scam I encountered while searching for freelance typing work.

Scam Summary:

· Scammer Profile: "Nikita Evelyn" and "McFarland Nathan" on Telegram.
· Company Impersonated: Castingwords.com
· Job Offered: Typing services for "Novel Images."
· The Ask: A $50 "server linking fee" required before receiving payment.

Key Red Flags to Watch For:

1. Unofficial Platform: All communication was through Telegram, not professional channels.
2. Linking Fees: They requested money before payment, a classic scam tactic.
3. Email Mismatch: The "official" email they sent used a Gmail address, not the company's domain.
4. Blocking Behavior: When I became suspicious, both profiles immediately blocked me.

I have reported these accounts to Telegram. It's incredibly frustrating to face these scams, especially when you're trying to earn honest income for a cause like supporting stray animals. Stay vigilant and always verify a company's contact information directly through their official website.
