One of the most common things we see at the clinic is pets hiding discomfort. Because of their natural instincts, dogs and cats are experts at masking when they aren’t feeling 100%.

Here are 3 subtle signs that it might be time for a check-up:

🐱 Changes in grooming: A cat suddenly neglecting their coat (or over-grooming one specific spot) is often a sign of stress or localized pain.

🐶 Shifting positions frequently: If your dog keeps pacing, adjusting, or seems restless when trying to lie down, their joints or tummy might be bothering them.

🍲 Subtle appetite shifts: It’s not just about completely stopping eating. Eating slower, leaving leftovers, or suddenly becoming "picky" can point to dental issues or underlying nausea.
