Abandoned on the roadside, a family of three cats was left to fend for themselves by heartless humans.

On the cold roadside,
a mother cat tightly shields her babies.
No food. No shelter. No way out.
Only fear, hunger, and endless waiting.

They did not choose to live on the streets.
They were **abandoned by human hands**.

**You abandon them, we pick up the pieces.**
What was thrown away
was not broken property,
not unwanted goods,
but **a family of cats with flesh, blood, emotions, and lives**.

We claim to live in a civilized society,
yet many hearts remain trapped in outdated, cruel mindsets—
treating vulnerable animals as insignificant,
believing their lives are worthless,
or even seeing them as objects to be used, harmed,
or worse, consumed.

Life has no hierarchy.
They feel fear.
They suffer hunger.
They feel pain.
And they, too, long for kindness and protection.

Abandonment
is not helplessness—
it is a **deliberate act of cruelty**.

Before you choose to abandon them, ask yourself:
If this despair were happening
to you or your family,
could you still turn away so easily?

**Do not destroy fragile lives so lightly.**
Protecting animals

Their life on the streets was never their fault.

The fault lies in human selfishness and cruelty.
One moment of abandonment, one act of indifference,
forces lives that once trusted humans
onto a road with no way back.

Abandoned, chased away, poisoned, beaten—
they endure hunger, fear, and illness on the streets.
Their small and fragile hearts
are pushed beyond their limits,
again and again.

These tragedies
do not happen occasionally.
They happen every single day,
repeated endlessly
in the lives of stray dogs.

In the midst of this darkness,
only a small number of compassionate humans
continue to fight for their survival—
often alone.

Day after day,
rescuing, neutering, feeding, and releasing,
pouring every ounce of strength
just to save one more life.

Yet deep down, we all know—
this is not a long-term solution.

The number of animals rescued
will never catch up
with the number being abandoned.
Those who die from starvation, road accidents,
or devastating diseases
far exceed the number we are able to save and shelter.

The problem has never been the animals.
The problem is human choice.

If abandonment does not stop,
if responsibility for sterilisation and lifelong care is ignored,
if indifference and cruelty remain unchanged,
then this tragedy will continue to repeat itself.

Stray animals have never asked for much—
only a life
without abandonment, without fear,
and a safe place they can truly call home.

在收容所忙碌、疲惫的一天里，
原本早已习惯了无止境的工作与操劳，
却因为一份真诚的到来，
让所有的疲惫都被温柔地抚平了。

我们衷心感谢善心朋友 Jaye，
带着她的朋友一起走进我们的收容所，
不是匆匆一看，
而是真正走进这些毛孩子的生命里。

她们关心的，
是这里曾经受伤、被救助、被遗弃、
年老、残缺、
却依然努力活着、渴望被爱的毛孩。
她们耐心地蹲下身、轻声呼唤、轻轻抚摸，
也为一只又一只小奶狗拍下照片，
只希望能为牠们多争取一个
走进温暖家庭的机会。

更让我们夫妻感动到难以言喻的是——
她们送给了我们一个蛋糕。

一个看似简单，
却承载着深厚心意的蛋糕。

在我接管收容所 6年多以来，
这是我们收到的第一份礼物蛋糕。
这一刻，我们才发现，
原来我们的坚持，

Today, our hearts are full.

After a long and exhausting day at the shelter,
a day we thought would be just like many others,
everything changed because of a sincere and heartfelt visit.

We are deeply grateful to our kind-hearted friend Jaye,
who brought her friend along to visit our shelter —
not just to look around,
but to truly step into the lives of our animals.

They showed genuine care for the dogs who were once injured, rescued, abandoned,
old, disabled,
yet still holding on —
still hoping to be loved.

They knelt down, spoke softly, gently reached out,
and took the time to photograph our puppies,
hoping these photos would help them find
warm and loving homes.

What touched us even more deeply was the cake they brought for us.

A simple cake,
yet filled with meaning beyond words.

In the more than six years since I took over this shelter,
this was the very first cake we have ever received as a gift.

At that moment, we realized something precious —
our years of persistence and sacrifice
have not gone unseen.

That cake was not just sweet;
it carried understanding, encouragement,
and the warmth of being remembered.

We will treasure this gesture forever,
and we will continue to stand strong
for these voiceless lives.

Thank you for reminding us
that kindness is never lonely.

And thank you to everyone who follows, supports,
and walks this journey with us.

Feeding stray animals
is never a momentary act of kindness,
but a lifelong responsibility carried on our shoulders.

My wife and I,
beyond upholding the promise of *Auntie Meefah* to these homeless souls,
must also continue the responsibility we took on
long before we ever managed a shelter.

Every day,
after completing the exhausting work at the shelter,
we return to our home in Klang.
And when the city is still asleep,
at the first light of dawn,
we set out again
to feed the stray animals in the Klang area
whom we have been caring for all these years.

This life
has no holidays,
no festivals,
and no time to visit relatives or friends.
Our days are chased by time,
our lives bound tightly by responsibility.

Yet we never chose to let go.
Because the moment we do,
they would truly have nothing left.

Others have children waiting at home.
We have eyes waiting at street corners.
Others gather around family tables.
We prepare bowls of food that can never be missed.

These homeless animals
are not a burden.
They are the children
we cannot abandon in this lifetime.

As long as they are still waiting,
we will not stop.

“Year’s End Should Never Be the Day They’re Left Behind”

The year is ending.
The streets are filled with lights,
homes are busy preparing to welcome a new beginning.
People say this is a time to let go of the old and start anew.

But for them,
this year ends with being left behind.

They once waited by your door,
for you to come home from work,
for your voice,
for a gentle “good dog.”
Their youth was given to you.
Their loyalty was never conditional.

Until they grew old.

They walk slower now.
Their teeth have fallen out.
Skin diseases cover their fragile bodies.
They are no longer clean,
no longer “presentable.”

So, on the eve of the New Year,
you stop the car,
open the door,
and leave them behind—
without a word.

They don’t chase after you.
They simply stand there,
watching the taillights fade into the distance.

They don’t understand ' burden '
or starting over.
They only know that
**their world suddenly has no home.**

The night is cold.
The year-end wind cuts into their bones.
They curl up in a corner,
silent—
too old, too tired to cry for help.

Please ask yourself—
if one day you were old, sick, and unable to walk,
would you want to be abandoned like this?

Old dogs are not expired pets .
They are souls who spent their entire lives walking beside you.

The New Year is meant to begin with hope and blessings,
not with the despair of an abandoned life.

Before you say goodbye to the old year,
please don’t leave behind
the one who stayed with you through all those years.

we stand at the threshold of time,

Today is the Winter Solstice.
As the ancients once said, *“The Winter Solstice is greater than the New Year.”*
On this meaningful day each year, families put aside their busy lives,
return home to gather around the table,

celebrating togetherness, happiness, and blessings.

On this special occasion,
we at Meefah Homeless Animals Shelter
wish all those living and working away from home
a safe return and a joyful reunion

In our home, however,
reunion is not reserved for humans alone.
