Every breath is easier now 🥹❤️

This sweet female kitten came to us struggling to breathe due to a diaphragmatic hernia—a tear in the muscle separating her chest from her abdomen.
When this happens, organs like the stomach or liver can slide into the chest cavity, leaving little room for the lungs to expand.

Watch how Dr. Choong carefully moved her organs back into place and stitched the tear closed.
Thanks to a successful surgery, her lungs can fully expand again, and she is finally breathing easily! 🐾✨

Stop using ice water for heatstroke! 🛑🐶

When hot weather hits, knowing the right first aid can save your dog's life.
Here’s what to do and what to NEVER do in a heat emergency 👇

❌ WHAT NOT TO DO:
🚫 Don’t use ice baths or ice-cold water—it shrinks blood vessels and traps core heat inside.
🚫 Don’t drape a wet towel over their back—it acts like a blanket and steams them underneath.
🚫 Never force-feed water if they are weak or disoriented.

✅ WHAT TO DO INSTEAD:
💦 Pour cool running tap water over low-fur areas (belly, armpits, paw pads)
💨 Direct a fan or air conditioner straight at their damp fur to speed up cooling.
💧Offer small sips of room-temp water ONLY if they are conscious and alert.
🚗 Straight to the emergency vet clinic!

Dreaming of chasing squirrels or just super relaxed? 💤🐶🐱

If your pet twitches, flicks their ears, or moves their paws while sleeping, they’re likely just in deep sleep and feeling totally safe in your home.
But if you see full-body stiffening, intense shaking, or a loss of responsiveness, contact your vet immediately, as these can be signs of seizures.

Why does a dog with a heart condition cough so much? 🐕

If you’ve noticed your dog coughing more often, especially when they lie down or wake up, their heart might be sending you a warning sign.

A heart condition cough usually comes down to two things:
🫀 An enlarged heart pressing directly against the trachea.
🫁 Fluid building up inside the lungs.
