Why Sponsor a Dog?

MAWA is currently home to over 440 rescued dogs, and it takes at least RM40,000 each month to keep our shelter running. Without consistent support, continuing our mission becomes incredibly difficult.

If each of our dogs had a dedicated sponsor, we wouldn’t need to keep asking for help. Sponsorship provides sustainability—ensuring that our animals receive the care and food that they need.

If you’re not able to sponsor, that’s completely okay. You can still help by sharing this message with friends, family, or anyone who might be able to support us.

📞 For inquiries, feel free to contact us at 012-631 6334 or 012-243 6334.
📍 You’re also welcome to visit our shelter to see firsthand the work we do and the daily challenges we face.

Every bit of support matters—to us and to the animals who depend on us. 🐾

Dear friends and supporters of MAWA,

Our current food supply will only last three more days. We require 120kg of kibbles daily to feed all our dogs.

We urgently need your help to replenish our food stock. We’ve partnered with Mr. Nelson, the owner of Animal Channel Mart, to make it easier for you to contribute. He will handle the purchase and delivery of the food directly to us.

Each 20kg bag of Agogo kibble costs RM109.

If you’d like to help, you can:

Scan the QR code attached, or

Transfer directly to Mr. Nelson Goh’s Public Bank account:

Your support means our dogs will continue receiving the food they need. Thank you for always standing by us.

Dear Friends and Supporters of MAWA,

Effective immediately, MAWA will be stepping back from the and Justice for Kopi initiatives. As the President of MAWA, I have given my utmost dedication to these movements, and while this was not an easy decision, I believe it is the right one to allow others to step forward and carry the mission ahead.

Additionally, MAWA will also be withdrawing from the Secretariat of Gabungan NGO Haiwan Malaysia once a suitable successor is identified. This intention has been communicated to the rest of the Secretariat earlier this afternoon.

MAWA will continue to offer support if approached, but we will no longer be leading or fronting these initiatives. As I’ve consistently shared in my speeches and conversations—unity is essential if we are to change the fate of homeless animals in Malaysia. Personal publicity or ego-driven motives will never bring the reform we so desperately need.

The Animal Welfare Act requires urgent and meaningful reform. Until that happens, true change will remain out of reach.

Thank you for your continued support.

Warm regards,
Mukunnan Sugumaran
Founder & President
Malaysian Animal Welfare Association (MAWA)

Update: Nellie just passed away.

Urgent Help Needed for Nellie

Just two days ago, Nellie was happily jumping and playing. Today, she’s suddenly pale, weak, and in critical condition. We rushed her to Majestic Animal Medical Centre, and initial blood results are concerning—there may be internal bleeding or possible poisoning. The vet team is currently working to stabilize her.

The estimated cost for just one night of treatment is RM1,400 plus. We’ve managed to borrow RM700 to cover the deposit, but we urgently need support to cover the remaining cost and further care.

If you’d like to help Nellie, please send your support to:

Persatuan Kebajikan Haiwan Malaysia
Maybank Account: 562384524376

We’re also urgently in need of a healthy dog as a blood donor for Nellie.
Requirements:

Weighs 25kg or more

Tick-free, dewormed, and no prior illnesses

If you have a suitable dog, please WhatsApp us at 012-6316334 or 012-2436334.

Your help can save her life. Thank you. ❤️

Why Sponsor a Dog?

MAWA is currently caring for over 440 dogs, and it takes a minimum of RM40,000 every month just to keep our shelter running. Without this support, it's nearly impossible to sustain our operations.

If each of our dogs had a sponsor, we wouldn’t have to keep reaching out for help every month. So far, only about 50 dogs have been sponsored — we still have over 380 dogs in need of support.

If you're unable to sponsor, that’s completely okay. But you can still make a difference by sharing this message with others who may be able to help.

📞 For more information, please contact us at 012-631 6334 or 012-243 6334.
📍We also welcome the public to visit our shelter and get a better understanding of our work and daily challenges.

Your support, in any form, means the world to us and our furry friends. 🐾
