Jackson, our heartworm warrior, was admitted again last Saturday after suffering from diarrhea and refusing to eat for two days.
A few days earlier, we had already brought him to Animed Mahkota after noticing that he was breathing heavily. Upon examination, the vet discovered a large amount of fluid had accumulated in his abdomen and successfully drained approximately 900ml.
Despite the fluid removal, Jackson still refused to eat and later began vomiting, which led to his admission for further treatment and close monitoring. An X-ray was taken to assess the condition of his lungs due to the harsh breathing sounds, and blood tests were also carried out to ensure his organs were functioning properly.
Over the past few days, the doctors at Animed Mahkota have been closely monitoring Jackson’s breathing pattern and food intake. Advocate treatment has also been administered as part of his ongoing care.
We are relieved to share that Jackson is now stable enough to be discharged. While this is encouraging news, his fight against heartworm is not over yet, and he still needs continuous care and support.
Please continue to keep Jackson in your prayers as he continues his battle against heartworm. ❤️
