🏡 ALI NEEDS A QUIET HOME — CAN YOU HELP HIM? 🐾
Ali is a FeLV-positive fighter who has come a long way. ❤️ He is eating on his own, has gained strength, and on good days he is bright and happy.
But Ali still has on-and-off flu and fever episodes, almost every month. When he becomes unwell, he can suddenly become dull and depressed, lose interest in food, develop heavy nasal discharge, and sometimes need fever medication, fluids or even force-feeding.
At the moment, Ali is on:
💧 Subcutaneous fluids
💊 Bromhexine & Cetirizine for his flu symptoms
💊 Immune booster
🌡️ Fever medication when needed
He is currently receiving fluids daily / as needed to help prevent him from deteriorating.
Because he is FeLV-positive, his immune system is weaker. We believe a quiet, low-stress home would be much better for him than the shelter environment and could help reduce the frequency of his flare-ups.
❤️ What Ali needs in a foster home:
• An experienced and patient cat person
• A calm, quiet environment
• Someone able to monitor his appetite, energy and flu symptoms
• Someone who can act quickly and bring him to the vet if he deteriorates
• Commitment to his ongoing medication and care
If fostering isn’t possible, we would also love to find Ali a permanent home with someone who understands his FeLV status and is ready to give him the care he needs.
Ali doesn’t need a perfect home.
He needs someone who won’t give up on him when he has a bad day. 🥺❤️
