Wound Healing by Secondary Intention
This case demonstrates healing by secondary intention, a process where a wound is left to heal naturally when primary closure is not possible due to extensive tissue loss or severe infection.
Healing occurs progressively through the formation of healthy granulation tissue, gradual wound contraction, and eventual epithelialisation to restore skin coverage.
Although slower and often associated with scarring, this method is essential for managing large, contaminated, or complex wounds safely and effectively.
This is a story about Adik 🐶💔
she came to us weak, full of maggot wounds,
one eye gone, the other couldn’t see 🥺
her little body was fighting so much—
dystocia, infection, E. canis… everything at once.
but Adik? she didn’t give up. not even once 🤍
3 months later 🐾
she stood again 🥹
still not “perfect”… but so full of love, trust, and gentle energy.
Now she’s almost back to her happy self 💕
A soft reminder that even the most broken babies…
can heal with enough love, patience, and care 🫶
our strong girl, Adik 🐶✨
