Day 27 of our 30-Day Hydroponics Challenge 🌱

Today, our IoT engineer CY explains two very important values in hydroponics: pH and EC.

In simple terms:

💧 EC tells us how much nutrients are in the water.
🌱 pH affects how well the plant can absorb those nutrients.

Even when the plant looks healthy, the water condition can slowly change as the plant grows. That is why monitoring pH and EC is important throughout the whole growth cycle.

In AeroPod, we use sensors and smart monitoring to help us track these values and maintain a healthier growing environment.

Healthy roots start with stable water conditions.

🌱 Day 25 — Grower + AI Working Together

Today’s lettuce update:

📏 Leaf height: 9.8 cm
📏 Root length: 7.0 cm

The leaves are now fuller and spreading wider, showing stronger vegetative growth. The roots are still active and supporting nutrient uptake, though this stage reminds us to keep watching water temperature, oxygen availability, and overall root condition.

Today, I also used our app to answer questions from Aira, our AI co-pilot, about the crop’s growth status and condition.

This is important because AI should not make decisions from sensor data alone. A grower’s observation still matters — leaf colour, root appearance, growth speed, water condition, and overall plant response all help the AI make better recommendations.

Today’s AI insight:
The crop is progressing well, but the best decisions come from combining:

🌱 Plant observation
📊 Sensor readings
🤖 AI analysis
👨‍🌾 Grower experience

AI does not replace the grower.
It helps the grower observe better, think faster, and make smarter growing decisions.

🌱 Day 24 — Full Tray Check + AI Recommendations

Today we checked all the lettuce trays in our 30-day growth challenge. The plants are now spreading wider across the tray, and the roots are clearly extending below the net pots.

This is an important stage because the crop is no longer just “surviving” — it is actively building leaf mass and root structure.

Our AeroPod app also generated an AI report today. The key recommendation is to watch the reservoir temperature, because warmer water can reduce oxygen available to the roots. The AI also suggested improving airflow, checking EC/pH sensor calibration, and planning the next crop cycle based on tray performance.

What I like about this stage is that we are not only observing the plant visually. We are learning how plant growth, water condition, root health, temperature, EC, pH, and AI recommendations connect together.

Nature still does the growing.
AI helps us observe, understand, and respond better. 🌱🤖

🌱 Day 22–23 of our 30-Day Indoor Lettuce Growth Challenge

Growth continues! Today we measured both leaf and root development while comparing it with data from our AeroPod app and AI analysis.

📏 Leaf height: 8.0 cm
📏 Root length: 9.5 cm

Today's AI observations:

✅ pH is within a healthy range for nutrient uptake
✅ EC remains suitable for leafy greens
✅ Root growth looks active and healthy
⚠ Water temperature is slightly warm, which may reduce oxygen levels available to roots

One interesting observation: what happens below the tray often predicts what happens above the tray. While leaves are what we see first, healthy roots are quietly doing the hard work underneath.

The app is helping us visualize trends through sensor graphs while AI converts raw data into simple observations and recommendations.

This challenge is becoming more than growing lettuce.

It is becoming a journey of:
🌱 Plant science
📡 IoT monitoring
🤖 AI-assisted analysis
📊 Data-driven learning

Real plants. Real data. Real learning.

Day 21 of our 30-Day Lettuce Growth Challenge 🌱

Today, the AeroGreen Asia team visited AGRITECHNICA in Bangkok — and it was an eye-opening experience.

What caught our attention was not only the big machines and farming equipment, but how fast agriculture is changing. We saw companies working on smarter irrigation, greenhouse systems, sensors, controlled-environment farming, training programmes, and new ways to help farmers make better decisions.

We also had meaningful conversations with people from Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, and Thailand. Each conversation gave us a different view of where agriculture is heading — from vertical farming and education, to international training and collaboration.

While we were exploring the future of agriculture in Bangkok, our lettuce back home continued growing quietly in the AeroPod — and we could still monitor it remotely through our IP camera.

That moment felt special.

We were standing inside one of Asia’s major agritech exhibitions, while our own small smart farming experiment was still running back home.

This is what keeps us excited: learning from the world, testing our own ideas, and improving one crop at a time.

🌱 Day 20 — Monitoring Growth 1,800 km Away

Today, the AeroGreen Asia founders are at True Digital Park Life, Bangkok — often described as Bangkok’s equivalent to Silicon Valley is the South Sukhumvit district, centered around True Digital Park. Spanning over 230,000 square meters, it is Southeast Asia’s largest tech and startup hub.

While we are away, our 30-day lettuce growth challenge continues back home.

Even from about 1,800 km away, we are still able to monitor the lettuce growth through our IP camera and remote observation setup. This is exactly why AI, IoT, and smart farming matter — they allow growers to stay connected to the crop, even when they are not physically beside it.

We also visited a creative innovation centre with 3D printing showcases. This connects strongly with AeroPod, because 3D printing has helped us turn ideas into real parts, test designs quickly, and improve the system through rapid prototyping.

Day 20 reminds us that smart farming is not only about growing plants.

It is about:
🌱 plant science
🤖 AI observation
📡 IoT monitoring
🖨️ 3D printing and product design
🌍 building solutions beyond location

From Malaysia to Bangkok, the crop keeps growing — and so does our learning journey.

🌱 Day 19 — AI Check + Root & Leaf Observation

Today we checked both the leaves and roots, and also ran an AI analysis on the crop condition.

The leaves are becoming wider and more defined, showing that the plants are moving further into the vegetative growth stage. Some leaves are still uneven in size, but overall the crop is continuing to develop.

The roots are also extending well below the net pot. This is a good sign because stronger roots help the plant absorb water, nutrients, and oxygen more effectively.

Today’s AI observation:
The crop is still progressing, but this stage is important for monitoring consistency — leaf expansion, root health, water condition, EC/pH, and lighting all need to stay stable.

This is the purpose of our 30-day challenge: not only to grow lettuce, but to understand the relationship between plant growth, system design, IoT monitoring, and AI-supported observation.
