Thank god there are hero's out there saving our farmland! We don't need these data centers!!!
Imagine how much propaganda it took to convince us sacrificing farmers for data centers is advancing society…
When data center developers show up, they often offer multiples of fair-market ag value.
A 86‑year‑old Pennsylvania farmer named Mervin Raudabaugh was offered a whopping $15M for his 261 acres by unnamed data center developers.
It was a generational family farm that Raudabaugh himself worked on the past 50-70 years.
He rejected the data center offer.
Instead he sold the development rights to Lancaster Farmland Trust for just under 2 million dollars.
Also placing a conservation easement that permanently restricts the land to agricultural use while allowing it to be sold only as farmland in the future.
The question? How many are willing to give up $13M for the good of the World.
For the sovereignty of our food production.
To prevent the continuous loss of small family farms.
That’s the scary part with the data center takeovers of farmland.
We should however be encouraged by similar stories that are emerging nationwide, with farmers and rural residents rejecting eight‑figure offers.
