Sweater McGinnis and Red Richardson both holding Blueface c***s. At Sweaters death all straight Blueface were given to Eddie Gooch, Eddie allowed Norris Barnes to have a straight stag to go with two pullets Sweater let Norris have for 500 to pay for his wife's surgery later Sweater tried buying them back as he didn't want any Blueface blood out, Norris wouldn't sell them back. So after Gooch got these he let Mr Barnes have a stag the stag had the same marks as the hens he had and corresponding band numbers leading them to believe they were brother and sister. Mr Gooch let Big Red have one side of the Blueface and one straight bred grey c**k the only one that was left that didn't go to William Greene. The story Mr Greene told was Mr Gooch got drunk and started fighting with his wife and then went out and killed every chicken on his place. So these were not available all over the place. When Sweater died he had yards from Texas to North Carolina and they were very sought after and everything caught off those yards were labled Blueface. Something interesting, I seen Sweaters brood book where he referred to his dark Blueface as seed stock, makes you think. Sweater developed the Blueface as an answer to the Hatch Clarets that were dominating at the time. He not only did that but gave us what I think is the best line of fowl ever developed. Ever think why so many yellow leg lines throw a green leg pullet, cause at one time they had to put something in them to keep them in the pit and most of the time it was the Blueface.
