A diet that offers a wide variety of fruits and vegetables for our parrots is essential to ensure optimal and healthy development.

In our project, we like to offer up to 10 different types of fruits and vegetables: (red and orange bell peppers, papaya, apple, Tabasco and Dominican bananas, guava, pear, grape, carrot, chayote, cucumber, peach, squash, mango, orange, tangerine, blueberries, lettuce). We also offer them in a coconut-shaped dish to promote environmental enrichment.

As Tony Silva mentioned in some of his posts, we present the first and only known hybrid between a macaw and a parakeet.

To be more exact, this is a hybrid between a Scarlet Macaw (Ara macao cyanoptera) and a Mexican Green Parakeet (Psittacara holochlorus).
This magnificent specimen demonstrates how incredible and inexplicable nature is when hybridizations of this type occur between birds of different genera but from the same tribe (Arini).
The significant genetic and physiological differences between the two parents gave rise to this very colorful specimen, which makes us wonder if we already know everything about the evolutionary biology of birds, and which surprises us more every day.

Meet the magnificent and colorful Catalina Macaw. This specimen is a hybrid between a scarlet macaw (Ara macao) and a blue and gold macaw (Ara ararauna).
It’s undoubtedly a very popular bird in the aviculture world.

Meet the beautiful maroon-fronted parrot (Rhynchopsitta terrisi).

This incredible and magnificent bird lives only in the coniferous forests of the Sierra Madre Oriental, generally between 2,500 and 3,500 m altitude, but in some cases between 1,300 and 3,700 m above sea level.
It feeds on pine seeds. It is in danger of extinction.
