Circa 1939
Back in the day ink blotters we’re a common household item. These printed items on absorbent card stock were used to blot up excess ink when writing with fountain pens.

An alternative way to speed ink drying was to sprinkle the text with fine salt

It is a wonder how any other of these even survived so perfect and “unblotted”

The beautiful artwork on it’s own was worth the effort and I was also able to bring out enough contrast on the text to finally be able to read it for the first time myself. What a great story this is. Thank you so much Mary for this very unique find!

Se extravio ayer al medio dia, tiene 4 meses, con collar verde, tenemos mucha fe en que pronto va a regresar a casa xq hay mucha gente buena que ayuda.
