It was an amazing day! A total of eight dogs flew out today. Seven dogs to our rescue partner Fur-Ever Homes Rescue . Thank you to them and their volunteer Lana who came down to get seven lucky dogs to go back. Thank you also to our team for getting them ready and to Trinidad Arreola and Mary Maravilla who helped us save them.

Leo also flew out today to Edmonton, our first pup going to our new rescue partner Alberta Homeward Hound Rescue Bureau . So grateful to Kris who put us in touch with them and to Kris Shellard who fostered him and took him to the airport all the way from los Barriles, thank you to his flight Angel for making it happen.

Like so many Pugs we see Rico was dumped by his owners, he had lost one eye and need surgery to remove it. Lucky for him he was dumped close to ranch and then we were asked if we could take him in. Kris Shellard was able to set up a Foster for him and we are super happy to announce it was a Foster fail❤️🐾
Rico is now living his best life and could not be mors loved. Happy tails Rico❤️
Como tantos Pugs que rescatamod Rico fue abandonado por sus dueños, había perdido un ojo y necesitaba cirugía. Por suerte para él fue abandonado cerca de un rancho y ellos nos contactaron. Kris Shellard pudo encontrar hogar temporal para él y estamos muy contentos de anunciar que fallaron como Hogar temporal y ahoran son su Hogar para siempre❤️🐾

Rafa was rescued from a horrible situation by Luna, Voz de Esperanza AC he was a hot mess when we got him and were not sure of his future, he had ringworm and needed eye surgery, he was also a bit bigger than most pugs so would be difficult to fly him anywhere. We were loosing hope that he would get a Family of hos own. Enter my dear friends Kathy Corbett Johnson and Dave who wanted to Foster and went to the ranch to get a dog, we had 3 black pugs and I told them to take one of the other 2 not Rafa, fortunately for him Kathy picked the "wrong" one. I then said dont worry I will bring another one and trade you and she said " he is so sweet you can't have him back" and that was it Rafas life changed forever. He is now living his best life in California. Happy tails sweet Rafa, we love you❤️🐾
Rafa fue rescatado de una situación horrible por Luna, Voz de Esperanza AC, tenia mil cosas cuando llego con nosotros y no estabamos seguros de su futuro, tenía tiña (hongo) y necesitaba cirugía en los ojos, también era un poco más grande que la mayoría de los pugs por lo que sería difícil volarlo a cualquier lugar. Estábamos perdiendo la esperanza de que él tendria una familia propia. Pero llegaros mis queridos Kathy Corbett Johnson y Dave que querían un perro para Hogar temporal y fueron al rancho por el, teníamos 3 pugs negros y les dije que tomaran uno de los otros 2, a Rafa no, afortunadamente para él, Kathy eligió el "equivocado". Entonces le dije, no te preocupes, traeré otro y te cambiaré y ella dijo "él es tan dulce que no puedes tenerlo de vuelta" y eso fue todo,.la vida de.Rafa cambió para siempre. Ahora está viviendo su mejor vida en California. Felices vida dulce Rafa, te amamos❤️🐾

On Saturday we had a great campaign at Leon Cota Collins elementary school, 168 dogs and cats were Spay-Neutered. The campaign was organized by the Teachers as part of their responsable pet ownership and animal welfare project. This is our second year working with them, we are so grateful for the work they are doing. Thank you to our incredible group of Volunteers and Veterinarians, Eriksen'sTeam, Crovet , clinica veterinaria BuenosAires . Thank you Jody Crane for being in charge of the trailer, Rick Wulff for overseeing recovery and Laura Garcia for all the help with logistics and making the delicious tamales.
We also got a beautiful surprise from the kids in fifth grade, they made 3 wonderful doggy houses for the ranch.

El Sábado tuvimos una gran campaña en la escuela primaria Leon Cota Collins, 168 perros y gatos fueron esterilizados. La campaña fue organizada por los Maestros como parte de su proyecto sobre responsable de tenencia de mascotas y bienestar animal. Este es nuestro segundo año trabajando con ellos, estamos muy agradecidos por el trabajo que están haciendo. After 11 hours of travel Sahdow and Merlina made it to their new home. We are sooo happy for both of them. Thank you Allena Danielle Hoffpauir for rescuing Sahdow, finding a home for Merlina and being their flight Angel and to her Mom for adopting them. Happy tails babies ❤️🐾

The most important lesson Evaristo Castro Rosas and I have learned in our combined expirience of 20 years volunteering and working in animal welfare is that there will never be enough responsible permanent homes for all the animals that are born. We have seen shelters and independent rescuers struggle for funds to be able to save lives and come to the heartbreaking realization that you cannot save them all. Because of our personal expirence we have decided to work on the root of the problem, we need to educate our community regarding the responsibility of owning a pet and the importance of spay/neuter and with your help be able to offer low cost and free spay/neuters. Through our education and spay/neuter programs we will prevent the needless suffering of dogs and cats that will otherwise end up on our streets spreading disease through no fault of their own.
Our goal is to do 100 surgeries per month, our cost per surgery is $25.00 usd.
Every little bit counts, please consider helping us by sponsoring a surgery, donating towels, medical supplies, kennels, collars and leashes, volunterring at the clinic.
Just one spay/ neuter can make a huge long term impact. THANK YOU!!
La lección mas valiosa que Evaristo y yo hemos aprendido en nuestros casi 20 años involucrados en el bienestar animal es que nunca habrá suficientes hogares responsables para todos los perros y gatos que nacen. Hemos visto como las asociaciones y rescatistas independientes hacen hasta lo imposible por solventar gastos y confrontar la cruel realidad de que no hay recursos suficientes. Por estos motivos decidimos trabajar en la raíz del problema, debemos educar a nuestra comunidad sobre la tenencia responsable y la importancia de la esterilización. Con su apoyo podremos ofrecer campañas de esterilización gratuitas y a bajo costo.
Nuestra meta es de realizar 100 esterilizaciones al mes, nuestro costo por cirugía es $25.00 dólares.
Hay muchas formas de ayudar, patrocina un esterilización, dona toallas, medicamentos, transportadoras, collares y correas o se voluntario en una de nuestras campañas.
Una sola esterilización hace una gran diferencia. GRACIAS!!
