So there we were, just living our peaceful Rodriguan life — saving animals, drinking iced coffee, minding our own business — when the universe decided to spice things up.

My phone rings.
I check the name.
I blink. Twice.

Sergey Sereda.
Yes, that Sergey — President of the Russian Federation of Small Animal Medicine.
Yes, the author of the Blue Vet Diary.
Yes, casually calling like he’s asking where to find the best gato pima.

He says he’s in Rodrigues and wants to meet for a chat 😀

So we head to Eat Origin for what was supposed to be a simple drink.
A quiet, innocent, “we’ll be home early” kind of drink.

Fast‑forward and suddenly we’re knee‑deep in collaborations, ideas, plans, and enough veterinary brainpower to power the whole island.

So here’s to the future of small animal medicine in Rodrigues — unpredictable, exciting, and clearly fuelled by one drink and a whole lot of Rodriguan magic.

These fish bones were lodged in the throat of a 6 month old cat🥲.The cat was in distress when he was brought in.Thanks to the intervention of Dr Karen, the fish bones were removed and the kitty lived happily ever after.The end.🥰

When Anne Sophie met this dog on the beach near Tekoma hotel ,it was love at first sight.She wanted to take her with her to France.Africanis Veterinary Care helped with all procedures including vaccinations and sterilization.Tekoma(named after place where they first met😅) is now ready to travel.She will be leaving Rodrigues for Mauritius via MV Peros Banhos next week .After that PAWS Relocation Services will facilitate her transfer to France where Anne Sophie is impatiently waiting to be reunited with her
