Dogs don’t bark at other dogs “for no reason”—they’re usually speaking the only language they know.
When a dog spends long hours on a balcony, terrace, or front garden, they’re not just relaxing… they’re working. Watching, monitoring, and reacting to every movement outside. Over time, that space doesn’t just feel like home—it feels like their territory to defend.
So when another dog walks by, the barking isn’t random. It’s your dog saying:
“⚠️ This is my area. I see you. Keep moving.”
The more they rehearse this behavior day after day, the stronger that sense of ownership becomes—until eventually, they feel like they “own” the whole neighborhood.
Understanding this is key: it’s not stubbornness or bad behavior—it’s instinct + repetition. And with the right guidance, dogs can learn that they don’t have to carry that responsibility alone.
