International Cat Shows at Montekristo
Today from 09.30hrs to 16.30hrs
The Malta Feline Guardians Club (MFGC) is holding its 78th and 79th International Cat Shows this weekend on Saturday, September 22 and Sunday, September 23 with both events starting at 09.30hrs at Montekristo Estates, Hal Farrug.
During these two shows, different range of breeds will be showcased, which includes: Balinese, Bengals, British Shorthairs, Burmese, Deveon Rex, Exotics, Himalayabs, Main C***s, Persians, Ragdolls, Scottish Folds, Siberian Sphynx and also household cats.
For the first time in Malta, a new breed coming from Russia, the Abyssinian, will be on display.
For this event, the MFGC invited three World Cat Federation (WCF) all-breed judges. Olga Dentico from Italy, Magdalena Swiatowiak from Poland together with Edward Borras from Spain will be judging these cat shows where four categories - baby kittens, kittens, adults and domestic cats - will be competing for the Best in Show, followed by the General Best and Super General Best.
Also, there will be WCF Rings Awards - Adult Ring, Neuter Ring, Kitten Ring and Fun Ring. The Speciality Ring will focus on the best features or abilities of the cat/kitten.
For the first time in Malta, this year the MFGC will be holding a mono-breed show for the Siberian breed, which is new on our island.
