We always advise pet parents one of the common side effects of acupuncture is a profound relaxation for first 24h.
Normally this is followed by surge of energy and general well being in following days.
Max has been suffering from musculoskeletal issues and has been in a lot of discomfort lately, after his session yesterday he went straight to his favourite spot and remained there for hours in deep slumber.

The scientific research has now confirmed that acupuncture triggers a cascade of biochemical reactions in the body facilitating the release of not only the endogenous opioids, beta-endorphins, enkephalins, dynorphins but also non-opioid compounds, such as serotonin, norepinephrine, GABA, and also the oxytocin which seems to be essential for the induction of functional changes in various organs.

Dr Zoran Jankovic

Dr Zoran grew up in Split, Croatia and completed his veterinary studies in Belgrade in 1996. He has been living in the island of Malta since 1999 practicing companion animal medicine with focus on internal medicine and surgery as well as species appropriate nutrition. In 2009 he joined Happy Paws organisation and set up from scratch first charity clinic on the island acting as chief veterinary surgeon for 9 months, he left this position to set up his own practice with focus on integrative veterinary medicine.
In 2016 he completed his CVA studies with Chi Institute of Europe. In 2023 he became certified in Veterinary Balance Medicine Acupuncture. He is currently running Equilibrium Malta Integrative Veterinary Medicine Centre.

Rock was in a pretty bad shape when we started treatment 5 months ago.

Maya suffered from hind limb paresis caused by intervertebral disc disease and was referred to us by lovely Dr. Christa in an attempt to resolve this before resorting to complicated surgery with guarded prognosis. Several acupuncture sessions later she is now almost fully recovered, back to her usual bouncy self❣️

Luna was diagnosed with Detrussor sphincter dyssynergia. This is a neurological condition that causes inability of urinary bladder to relax and evacuate urine. For a whole month Luna had to go regularly for urinary catheter placement in order to evacuate urine.
Last Friday we used Balance Method Acupuncture and Luna was able to p*e normal ever since 🤩

Hatchi is a therapy dog in Female Ward 1 at Mount Carmel psychiatric hospital. Originally he was Sicilian Stray.
A while ago Hatchi was diagnosed with cruciate ligament rupture causing him lot of pain. His carer Gloria decided to give Chinese Veterinary medicine a try before surgery.
Hatchi is now symptom free and continues to improve. Well done Hatchi, Gloria and all nurses who bring Hatchi regularly for his treatment
