New Shipment of Marine Clownfish & Anemones!
We’ve just received a shipment of beautiful marine clownfish and their natural companions, anemones! These vibrant fish, known for their stunning colors and playful personalities, are a great addition to any reef tank.
Pair them with a host anemone like the Bubble Tip Anemone (Entacmaea quadricolor), and you’ll have a fascinating symbiotic relationship right in your aquarium!
Acclimating New Fish Properly Is Crucial
After shipment, proper acclimation is essential to reduce stress and ensure a smooth transition into their new home. Sudden changes in water parameters—such as salinity, pH, and temperature—can shock the fish, leading to illness or even death.
Steps for Proper Acclimation:
1. Buckets or Float the Bag – Place the sealed bag in your tank for 15-20 minutes to equalize temperature.
2. Drip Acclimation – Slowly mix your tank water with the bag water over 45-60 minutes using a drip line or small cup.
3. Monitor Salinity & pH – Match the parameters of your tank before introducing the fish.
4. Gently Introduce the Fish – Avoid adding bag water to your tank; instead, use a net to transfer the fish.
5. Observe & Quarantine – If possible, quarantine new arrivals for a few days to monitor for any health issues.
Taking the time to acclimate new arrivals correctly helps them settle in stress-free and thrive in their new environment.
