乖乖三腳愛滋喵喵Butternut🐣尋愛心家長！開放領養或暫養！
C3054-Butternut (女，約8個月大，已絕育 ，FIV+)
今年5月13日，本會收到Ms. Shun求助指鏡湖一停車場内有一隻貓咪受傷和腳斷了！貓咪比較怕人不能接近，幸經過幾天設置捕貓籠，本會終於在5月17日捉到貓咪Butternut, 並送到獸醫診所治療。獸醫表示Butternut左後腳下肢部分斷了，幸好骨頭的X光影像還好，傷口也不算太差，建議先替Butternut早晚清潔傷口和塗藥膏，並須餵藥。如傷口變嚴重才需要動手術截肢。
起初Butternut比較怕人，洗傷口和餵藥有點難度。但很快Butternut就重新相信人類，很快變成一個會討摸摸和愛抱抱的妹妹！Butternut的腳腳也慢慢康復，只剩一個小痂。
雖然Butternut的腳腳已經慢慢好番，但她的尋家之路還有一個障礙，就是Butternut有貓愛滋（FIV+）。
貓免疫缺陷病毒/ 貓愛滋（FIV）主要是透過打架咬傷時、經由含病毒唾液或血液進入傷口傳染。日常互舔、共用碗盆、貓砂盆等一般接觸，幾乎不會傳染。這病毒只會感染貓，不會傳染給人。
感染 FIV後，大部分貓不會馬上發病，病毒會潛伏或有機會攻擊和抑制受感染貓隻的免疫系統，令他們生病後就更容易出現併發症。慶幸的是，其實只要讓感染FIV的貓咪維持良好生活作息，提供充足營養，他們基本上與一般貓咪是沒有區別的，很多時候仍然能夠活至正常壽命。
我們知道，患有FIV的貓咪被領養的機會比較低，但Butternut非常親人，就算經歷過斷腳這麽可怕的事，不知道是人爲還是意外，她現在都這麽相信人類，這麽嗲嗲，Butternut真的非常需要並值得擁有一個家！

本會的暫託家庭計劃適用於三歲以上的成貓或需要特別照顧的動物，以增加日後被領養的機會。暫養時間最少為一年。暫養家庭亦需要接受家訪，以確保貓咪居住環境的安全。

3-legged Super Sweet Kitty Butternut (FIV+) Open For Adoption or Fostering

On 13th March, we were contacted by Ms. Shun that a cat had got injured and lost 1 foot at a parking lot in Kiang Wu. The cat is afraid of people and cannot be caught directly. After setting up a cat trap for a few days, we managed to catch the kitty, Butternut, on 17th May and sent her to a private clinic for treatment.
The vet said Butternut‘s lower limb of left hind leg was gone. Luckily the bones are fine and the wound was not too bad, so surgery is not needed at the moment. We started to clean Butternut’s wound and gave her medication everyday.
At the beginning, Butternut would not allow us to touch her, but very soon Butternut turned into this girl who meows for being pet! Her wound has recovered quite well and amputation is not needed. She is just like any other normal kitty!
Although Butternut’s leg is recovering well, but her journey to finding a home might not be so easy as we found out she carries feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV).
FIV spreads mainly through bites, but not casual contact like grooming each other and sharing of bowls and litter boxes, and only infects cats, not humans. With good care and nutrition, FIV+ cats can live just as long and healthy as others.
We understand that it might be discouraging for people to adopt a FIV+ kitty, but we also believe that Butternut so deserves to go to a home as she still learns to trust humans again and becomes so friendly even after this horrible accident of having part of leg gone.

Our foster programme is for animals over 3 years old or those that need special care. The minimum foster period is 1 year, and foster families must also have a cat proof home and a home visit to ensure a safe environment for the cats.
Being a foster parent, you can help cats like Butternut experience the love of a family and, possibly, expedite the adoption process, and ensures that Anima has one extra space available to save one more life!
You are welcomed to visit Butternut at Cats Paradise during our opening hours. Appointment is not needed.
