Hello everyone,
I bring you sad news today. It breaks my heart to tell everyone that we can no longer continue. Lack of resources has stifled our association and our ability to care for our hundreds of animals.
I never thought I’d write a post like this. In fact, since our decision was taken, I’ve been typing these words in my head every day, at traffic lights, while doing the dishes... and yet they are only a pale reflection of what I would have liked to pass on.
Today, we’re giving way to someone, something with more resources. A wider range of possibilities. More tools to meet the immense needs of an association of our stature.
Of course, my door is always open for a miracle. For someone, something to invest in this project from afar. But I’ve stopped believing in miracles. Since October, things have gone from bad to worse, only to be crucified in the public square and gradually lose everything.
This decision is necessary because a drastic change is needed. The gap between what the animals need and what’s available on our side has become too wide.
It was supposed to be a fad, a bad moment, but instead of outstretched hands we came up against pointed fingers, which was the coup de grâce as we were already weakened.
So there you have it!
We’re not going to talk Chinese: without resources, it’s no longer ethical to continue working. It’s impossible to compose on a daily basis, all the lights are on. We’re looking for someone to take up the torch. Someone with the shoulders. Someone with the funds. Someone who will put animals first, like we’re doing.
At the same time, we’re looking for a miracle sponsor, a message that says “no, but it can’t end like this, here’s 6 months’ worth of supplies, rent, kibble, wages, hay, here’s sustainable financial solutions, here’s you don’t have to lose the animals you’ve sacrificed everything for for nearly a decade.”
Yeah. Not very realistic, is it?
