حالة من المغص الشديد مع الإسهال نتيجة وجبة زائدة من الحبوب عالية الطاقة و قد زاد الأمر تعقيداً مع تجمع زيت الكتان ف الرئة نتيجة محاولة إعطاءه للحصان عن طريق الفم مباشرة بدلاً من خلطه مع العليقة.
لا يحفز الزيت عملية البلع الطبيعية عند الحصان ، فبدلاً من الذهاب بشكل طبيعي إلى المعدة ، يتم شفطه من القصبة الهوائية إلى الرئتين ، مما يؤدي إلى الالتهاب الرئوي التنفسي ، وانخفاض قدرة الرئتين على تبادل الغازات ، وانخفاض الأكسجين في الدم ، وارتفاع مستوى ثاني أكسيد الكربون في الدم و يظهر ذلك ف أغشية مخاطية زرقاء اللون.
الحالة احتاجت إلى تدخل سريع و على مدار يومين و قد يستمر العلاج لمدة لا تقل عن أسبوعين ف محاولة لزيادة فرص نجاة الحصان.

A horse with a grain overload type colic that complicated with aspiration pneumonia due to direct feeding of oil into the horse mouth.
The oil doesn't induce the swallowing reflex so, instead of going normally to the stomach it's aspirated to the lungs, leading to aspiration pneumonia, low capacity of lungs for gas exchange, low oxygen in blood and high level of carbon dioxide in blood causing bluish mucous membranes.
No chance for a horse like this one to deal with even simple indigestion so, what about of a big meal that contains 5 kg of barely and one kg of pellets contains 32% crude protein!!?
A lot of gases and intestinal reflux come out through the stomach tube.
The main treatment plan includes Fluid therapy, oxygen therapy, stomach tube application, antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications.

يتم عمل غسيل رحم للفرس قبل التلقيح ف عدة حالات للتخلص من السوائل المتجمعة داخل الرحم نتيجة الالتهاب و العدوى البكتيرية للمساعدة في زيادة فرص الحمل.
قد تحتاج بعض الأفراس إلى عملية غسيل أخرى بعد التلقيح للتخلص من الحيوانات المنوية الميته و السوائل المتجمعة التي قد تقلل من فرص الحمل.

A uterine lavage may be required after breeding or insemination in mares with persistentmating-induced endometritis. The goal is to remove dead s***m, inflammatory cells, debris, and other material and prevent or limit the s***m-induced inflammatory response. In the postpartum mare, a uterine lavage may be performed in the event of a retained placenta, prolonged discharge of lochia, or metritis.

الإسهال ف الامهار حديثي الولاده من الممكن أن يسبب جفاف مميت ف مدة قصيرة من 6 إلى 8 ساعات ، لذلك من المهم إبلاغ الطبيب البيطري المختص للبدء ف الرعاية الطبية المركزة في اسرع وقت ممكن.
