The kittens in question were born in the spring of 2017. Soon after their birth, the lovely old lady who was taking care of them passed away. That was not the only bad news awaiting these little kitty cats. Right around the same time they got kicked out of the basement they were living in along with their momma cat. Just when it seemed that things couldn’t get worse, the momma cat abandoned them before giving birth to another litter. Different fates awaited these six little felines. One of them got adopted (luck was on his side), two did not survive the harsh street living and the other three were left to fend for themselves and fight for survival. The less fortunate homeless trio found admirers who fed them occasionally. The kittens did not leave the familiar territory or seek shelter (probably because they did not know winter then). Before winter came they would hide under cars when it rained and cuddle up together to keep each other warm. They used to sleep on the grass or on the bag filled with leaves until someone donated a cardboard box with an old rag for cushion. Soon the cardboard deteriorated and these three kittens got a plastic container instead. These small gestures made the kittens very happy. Unfortunately, their brief happiness was overshadowed by the first signs of winter. Frequent rain spells made it difficult to get to food left out for them and available shelters were not warm enough anymore.
Luckily for this trio, their hardship did not go unnoticed and they finally got their own big, warm and comfortable kitty house with a real window overlooking the street they once struggled on. This special kitty house is equipped with two bedrooms containing comfortable beds made of hay. This enormous change in living conditions has made a huge impact on the lives of these little kittens. Their food is now left in a covered area of the house, they have access to clean drinking water and as they sit inside their warm shelter looking through the window they don’t seem (or probably feel) abandoned or homeless. Here’s a massive thank you to the person who put this kitty house together for them and made a huge contribution to their quality of life and wellbeing.
Big hearts make a big difference so we are endlessly grateful to those people who support us and our furry friends.
