Workers of the genus Myrmica (presumably Myrmica rubra) are dragging winged males and females back into the nest. This behavior can be attributed to several factors. Most likely, it serves as a mechanism to prevent intranidal mating (inbreeding) among related individuals. Another reason could be that the workers are "canceling" the flight due to unfavorable weather conditions, protecting these valuable reproductives and forcing them to wait for a massive nuptial flight to encounter partners from other colonies.
