FEQHA European Championship 2023 for the first time with Versatility Pleasure
From August 04 - 13 the 33rd European Championship of Quarter Horses will take place at Gut Matheshof in Kreuth. The best horses and riders from all over Europe will ride for a total of 73 titles in 19 classes. In the performance classes, the best horse/rider pairs will be determined via the go-rounds, which will take place as a 4-fold show from August 07 to 10, and will then ride in the finals from August 10 for the European Championship titles and the trophies specially designed for the European Championship.
The European Championships in the Halter classes will be held on August 05 and 06. As in previous years, there will be no finals, so that the first European Champions will be nominated on the first weekend of the show.
The Green and Novice classes will be offered as a 2-fold show, starting on Friday 4th. Furthermore, there will be again paid warm ups for preparation from Wednesday, August 02.
The Futurity of the NSBA Germany has also established itself. In addition to the Pleasure & Hunter Futurity, a Longe Line Futurity is offered for both the Open and the Non Pro riders. For the first time the NSBA Germany offers a Trail Futurity Open.
After the Young Horse Cup was very popular in the last years, this great presentation opportunity will be offered to the young horses again. In the disciplines Showmanship, Trail In Hand and Longe Line the youngsters can demonstrate their talent. With 1,100 Euro prize money per discipline, there is another attractive starting opportunity for all 2- and 3-year-old horses in addition to the Halter and Showmanship classes. As in previous years, the total prize money of 3,300 euros was sponsored by Kumlegaard QH. Horses presented in the Kumlegaard Cup are not allowed to be shown under saddle at this show. The overall winner of the Cup will receive a beautiful US Trophy.
There will also be a Trail & Pleasure Celebration this year, in which both 4-year-old and 5-year-old Quarter Horse, Paint Horse and Appaloosa Horse breeds are eligible to compete. The highly attractive classes are each endowed with 5,000 euros in prize money and a US winner's trophy. Once again, this great offer is only possible with the support of Kaiser Show Horses. The horses can be shown by Youth riders as well as Amateur and Open riders.
This year, for the first time, a Pleasure Versatility Challenge - as offered at the World Show - is announced for the 6-year-old and older horses as part of the European Championship. The prize money is 1,000 Euro added, with an additional payout of 100% of the entry fees. The horses are shown, sequentially, in three classes, first a versatility pattern with requirements from trail and western riding, counting 40%, followed by a Western Pleasure, which is also counts 40% and finishing with a conformation to count the remaining 20%.
The goal is to establish an additional starting opportunity with the Young Horse Cup, the Celebration and the Pleasure Versatility Challenge, to develop and perform at the highest level from 2-year-old young horses to older senior horses.
This year we welcome Melissa Dukes (USA), Sharon Wellmann (USA), Helga Hommel (Germany) and Shane Young (USA) as judges.
We are looking forward to 10 days of fair western horse sport at the highest level.
