We are more than ecstatic to present to you, the 2024 International Veterinary Student Seminar happening right here in YOUR University - LSMU! We will be hosting extraordinary speakers of the Veterinary profession from Lithuania, Spain, the UK & Estonia. Lectures will be geared to interest a range of study levels. Students from their first all the way to the sixth year have the ability to benefit from these lecturers!

The Seminar is back for not one but TWO consecutive days! We will begin promptly at 10 AM sharp on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024, and at 10 AM on Sunday, March 24th, 2024.

🌿 LIVSU's First-Ever Holistic Medicine Workshop🌿

On Monday, May 22nd, we hosted an incredible event in conjunction with Dr. Sc. Lina Raudonė, chairman of the pharmacognosy club, and researcher and professor at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, focused on plants with antioxidant properties in human and veterinary medicine. It was an engaging session where we explored the total phenolic content and antioxidant activity of six remarkable plants. Here's a brief recap of the highlights:

✅ Phenolic Content & Antioxidant Activity:
We conducted extensive research to compare the phenolic content and antioxidant activity among the six plants. These findings shed light on their potential health benefits, paving the way for exciting advancements in medicine.

✨ Multi-Pathology Treatments:
We discovered some exceptional plants that exhibited effectiveness against multiple pathologies. For instance, one plant showed promising results against leishmania, highlighting its potential as an effective treatment option. Another plant demonstrated potential to replace certain antibiotics in the future, offering new avenues for medical advancements.

🌱 Benefits and Usage:
During the event, we discussed the wide-ranging benefits and various uses of these antioxidant plants. Their therapeutic potential extends beyond their antioxidant properties, making them invaluable in both traditional and modern medicine.

🍵 Sample Giveaway:
To conclude the event, Dr. Sc. Lina Raudonė, chairman of the pharmacognosy club, generously provided samples of these incredible plants. Participants were thrilled to take them home and enjoy soothing cups of tea, embracing the natural benefits they offer.
